| 12So when they were filled, He said to His disciples, “Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost.” | 12And when everyone was full, He said to His disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over, so that nothing will be wasted.” |

| 23however, other boats came from Tiberias, near the place where they ate bread after the Lord had given thanks— | 23However, some boats from Tiberias landed near the place where the people had eaten the bread after the Lord had given thanks. |
| 24when the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, nor His disciples, they also got into boats and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus. | 24So when the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor His disciples were there, they got into the boats and went to Capernaum to look for Him. |
| 25And when they found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him, “Rabbi, when did You come here?” | 25When they found Him on the other side of the sea, they asked Him, “Rabbi, when did You get here?” |
| 26Jesus answered them and said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled. | 26Jesus replied, “Truly, truly, I tell you, it is not because you saw these signs that you are looking for Me, but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. |
| 27Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.” | 27Do not work for food that perishes, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on Him God the Father has placed His seal of approval.” |

| 42And they said, “Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How is it then that He says, ‘I have come down from heaven’?” | 42They were asking, “Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How then can He say, ‘I have come down from heaven?’ ” |
| 43Jesus therefore answered and said to them, “Do not murmur among yourselves. | 43“Stop grumbling among yourselves,” Jesus replied. |

| 62What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before? | 62Then what will happen if you see the Son of Man ascend to where He was before? |
| 63It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. | 63The Spirit gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life. |
| 64But there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray Him. | 64However, there are some of you who do not believe.” (For Jesus had known from the beginning which of them did not believe and who would betray Him.) |
| 65And He said, “Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.” | 65Then Jesus said, “This is why I told you that no one can come to Me unless the Father has granted it to him.” |
| 66From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. | 66From that time on many of His disciples turned back and no longer walked with Him. |

| 68But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. | 68Simon Peter replied, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life. |
| 69Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” | 69We believe and know that You are the Holy One of God.” |
| 70Jesus answered them, “Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?” | 70Jesus answered them, “Have I not chosen you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil!” |
| 71He spoke of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, for it was he who would betray Him, being one of the twelve. | 71He was speaking about Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot. For although Judas was one of the Twelve, he was later to betray Jesus. |
