New American Standard Bible 1995Greek Study Bible
He entered again into a synagogue; and a man was there whose hand was withered.1Καὶ εἰσῆλθεν πάλιν εἰς [τὴν] συναγωγήν καὶ ἦν ἐκεῖ ἄνθρωπος ἐξηραμμένην ἔχων τὴν χεῖρα
They were watching Him to see if He would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse Him.2καὶ παρετήρουν αὐτὸν εἰ τοῖς σάββασιν θεραπεύσει αὐτόν ἵνα κατηγορήσωσιν αὐτοῦ
He said to the man with the withered hand, "Get up and come forward!"3Καὶ λέγει τῷ ἀνθρώπῳ τῷ τὴν «χεῖρα ἔχοντι» ξηράν Ἔγειρε εἰς τὸ μέσον
And He said to them, "Is it lawful to do good or to do harm on the Sabbath, to save a life or to kill?" But they kept silent.4καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς Ἔξεστιν τοῖς σάββασιν ἀγαθὸν¦ποιῆσαι κακοποιῆσαι ψυχὴν σῶσαι ἀποκτεῖναι Οἱ δὲ ἐσιώπων
After looking around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, He said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored.5Καὶ περιβλεψάμενος αὐτοὺς μετ’ ὀργῆς συλλυπούμενος* ἐπὶ τῇ πωρώσει τῆς καρδίας αὐτῶν λέγει τῷ ἀνθρώπῳ Ἔκτεινον τὴν χεῖρα (σου) καὶ ἐξέτεινεν καὶ ἀπεκατεστάθη χεὶρ αὐτοῦ
The Pharisees went out and immediately began conspiring with the Herodians against Him, as to how they might destroy Him.6Καὶ ἐξελθόντες οἱ Φαρισαῖοι εὐθὺς μετὰ τῶν Ἡρῳδιανῶν συμβούλιον ἐδίδουν κατ’ αὐτοῦ ὅπως αὐτὸν ἀπολέσωσιν
Jesus withdrew to the sea with His disciples; and a great multitude from Galilee followed; and also from Judea,7Καὶ Ἰησοῦς μετὰ τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ ἀνεχώρησεν πρὸς τὴν θάλασσαν καὶ πολὺ πλῆθος ἀπὸ τῆς Γαλιλαίας ἠκολούθησεν καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς Ἰουδαίας
and from Jerusalem, and from Idumea, and beyond the Jordan, and the vicinity of Tyre and Sidon, a great number of people heard of all that He was doing and came to Him.8καὶ ἀπὸ Ἱεροσολύμων καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς Ἰδουμαίας καὶ πέραν τοῦ Ἰορδάνου καὶ περὶ Τύρον καὶ Σιδῶνα πλῆθος πολύ ἀκούοντες ὅσα ἐποίει* ἦλθον πρὸς αὐτόν
And He told His disciples that a boat should stand ready for Him because of the crowd, so that they would not crowd Him;9Καὶ εἶπεν τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ ἵνα πλοιάριον προσκαρτερῇ αὐτῷ διὰ τὸν ὄχλον ἵνα μὴ θλίβωσιν αὐτόν
for He had healed many, with the result that all those who had afflictions pressed around Him in order to touch Him.10πολλοὺς γὰρ ἐθεράπευσεν ὥστε ἐπιπίπτειν αὐτῷ ἵνα αὐτοῦ ἅψωνται ὅσοι εἶχον μάστιγας
Whenever the unclean spirits saw Him, they would fall down before Him and shout, "You are the Son of God!"11καὶ τὰ πνεύματα τὰ ἀκάθαρτα ὅταν αὐτὸν ἐθεώρουν προσέπιπτον αὐτῷ καὶ ἔκραζον λέγοντα ὅτι Σὺ εἶ Υἱὸς τοῦ Θεοῦ
And He earnestly warned them not to tell who He was.12καὶ πολλὰ ἐπετίμα αὐτοῖς ἵνα μὴ αὐτὸν φανερὸν ποιήσωσιν
And He went up on the mountain and summoned those whom He Himself wanted, and they came to Him.13Καὶ ἀναβαίνει εἰς τὸ ὄρος καὶ προσκαλεῖται οὓς ἤθελεν αὐτός καὶ ἀπῆλθον πρὸς αὐτόν
And He appointed twelve, so that they would be with Him and that He could send them out to preach,14καὶ ἐποίησεν δώδεκα [οὓς καὶ ἀποστόλους ὠνόμασεν] ἵνα ὦσιν μετ’ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἵνα ἀποστέλλῃ αὐτοὺς κηρύσσειν
and to have authority to cast out the demons.15καὶ ἔχειν ἐξουσίαν ἐκβάλλειν τὰ δαιμόνια
And He appointed the twelve: Simon (to whom He gave the name Peter),16Καὶ ἐποίησεν τοὺς δώδεκα καὶ ἐπέθηκεν ὄνομα τῷ Σίμωνι Πέτρον
and James, the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James (to them He gave the name Boanerges, which means, "Sons of Thunder ");17καὶ Ἰάκωβον τὸν τοῦ Ζεβεδαίου καὶ Ἰωάννην τὸν ἀδελφὸν τοῦ Ἰακώβου καὶ ἐπέθηκεν αὐτοῖς ὀνόματα* Βοανηργές ἐστιν Υἱοὶ Βροντῆς
and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Zealot;18καὶ Ἀνδρέαν καὶ Φίλιππον καὶ Βαρθολομαῖον καὶ Μαθθαῖον καὶ Θωμᾶν καὶ Ἰάκωβον τὸν τοῦ Ἁλφαίου καὶ Θαδδαῖον καὶ Σίμωνα τὸν Καναναῖον
and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Him.19καὶ Ἰούδαν Ἰσκαριώθ ὃς καὶ παρέδωκεν αὐτόν
And He came home, and the crowd gathered again, to such an extent that they could not even eat a meal.20Καὶ ἔρχεται εἰς οἶκον καὶ συνέρχεται πάλιν ὄχλος ὥστε μὴ δύνασθαι αὐτοὺς μηδὲ ἄρτον φαγεῖν
When His own people heard of this, they went out to take custody of Him; for they were saying, "He has lost His senses."21καὶ ἀκούσαντες οἱ παρ’ αὐτοῦ ἐξῆλθον κρατῆσαι αὐτόν ἔλεγον γὰρ ὅτι Ἐξέστη
The scribes who came down from Jerusalem were saying, "He is possessed by Beelzebul," and "He casts out the demons by the ruler of the demons."22Καὶ οἱ γραμματεῖς οἱ ἀπὸ Ἱεροσολύμων καταβάντες ἔλεγον ὅτι Βεελζεβοὺλ ἔχει καὶ ὅτι Ἐν τῷ ἄρχοντι τῶν δαιμονίων ἐκβάλλει τὰ δαιμόνια
And He called them to Himself and began speaking to them in parables, "How can Satan cast out Satan?23Καὶ προσκαλεσάμενος αὐτοὺς ἐν παραβολαῖς ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς Πῶς δύναται Σατανᾶς Σατανᾶν ἐκβάλλειν
"If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.24καὶ ἐὰν βασιλεία ἐφ’ ἑαυτὴν μερισθῇ οὐ δύναται σταθῆναι βασιλεία ἐκείνη
"If a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.25καὶ ἐὰν οἰκία ἐφ’ ἑαυτὴν μερισθῇ οὐ δυνήσεται οἰκία ἐκείνη σταθῆναι*
"If Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but he is finished!26καὶ εἰ Σατανᾶς ἀνέστη ἐφ’ ἑαυτὸν καὶ ἐμερίσθη οὐ δύναται στῆναι ἀλλὰ τέλος ἔχει
"But no one can enter the strong man's house and plunder his property unless he first binds the strong man, and then he will plunder his house.27ἀλλ’ οὐ δύναται οὐδεὶς εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν τοῦ ἰσχυροῦ εἰσελθὼν τὰ σκεύη αὐτοῦ διαρπάσαι ἐὰν μὴ πρῶτον τὸν ἰσχυρὸν δήσῃ καὶ τότε τὴν οἰκίαν αὐτοῦ διαρπάσει
"Truly I say to you, all sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter;28Ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι πάντα ἀφεθήσεται τοῖς υἱοῖς τῶν ἀνθρώπων τὰ ἁμαρτήματα καὶ αἱ βλασφημίαι ὅσα ἐὰν βλασφημήσωσιν
but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin "--29ὃς δ’ ἂν βλασφημήσῃ εἰς τὸ Πνεῦμα τὸ Ἅγιον οὐκ ἔχει ἄφεσιν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα ἀλλὰ ἔνοχός ἐστιν αἰωνίου ἁμαρτήματος
because they were saying, "He has an unclean spirit."30Ὅτι ἔλεγον Πνεῦμα ἀκάθαρτον ἔχει
Then His mother and His brothers arrived, and standing outside they sent word to Him and called Him.31Καὶ ἔρχονται μήτηρ αὐτοῦ καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔξω στήκοντες ἀπέστειλαν πρὸς αὐτὸν καλοῦντες αὐτόν
A crowd was sitting around Him, and they said to Him, "Behold, Your mother and Your brothers are outside looking for You."32καὶ ἐκάθητο περὶ αὐτὸν ὄχλος καὶ λέγουσιν αὐτῷ Ἰδοὺ μήτηρ σου καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοί σου καὶ αἱ ἀδελφαί σου ἔξω ζητοῦσίν σε
Answering them, He said, "Who are My mother and My brothers?"33Καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς αὐτοῖς λέγει Τίς ἐστιν μήτηρ μου καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοί ‹μου›
Looking about at those who were sitting around Him, He said, "Behold My mother and My brothers!34καὶ περιβλεψάμενος τοὺς περὶ αὐτὸν κύκλῳ καθημένους λέγει Ἴδε μήτηρ μου καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοί μου
"For whoever does the will of God, he is My brother and sister and mother."35ὃς ‹γὰρ› ἂν ποιήσῃ τὸ θέλημα τοῦ Θεοῦ οὗτος ἀδελφός μου καὶ ἀδελφὴ καὶ μήτηρ ἐστίν
