| 3and said to him, ‘Get out of your country and from your relatives, and come to a land that I will show you.’ | 3and said to him: Get out of your country and away from your relatives, and come to the land that I will show you." |
| 4Then he came out of the land of the Chaldeans and dwelt in Haran. | 25For he supposed that his brethren would have understood that God would deliver them by his hand, but they did not understand. | 25He assumed his brothers would understand that God would give them deliverance through him, but they did not understand. |
| 26And the next day he appeared to two of them as they were fighting, and tried to reconcile them, saying, ‘Men, you are brethren; why do you wrong one another?’ | 26The next day he showed up while they were fighting and tried to reconcile them peacefully, saying, 'Men, you are brothers. Why are you mistreating each other?'" |
| 27But he who did his neighbor wrong pushed him away, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge over us? | 27But the one who was mistreating his neighbor pushed him away, saying: Who appointed you a ruler and a judge over us? |
| 28Do you want to kill me as you did the Egyptian yesterday?’ | 28Do you want to kill me, the same way you killed the Egyptian yesterday?" |

| 34I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt; I have heard their groaning and have come down to deliver them. | 35“This Moses whom they rejected, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge?’ is the one God sent to be a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the Angel who appeared to him in the bush. | 35This Moses, whom they rejected when they said, Who appointed you a ruler and a judge?--this one God sent as a ruler and a redeemer by means of the angel who appeared to him in the bush. |
| 36He brought them out, after he had shown wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red Sea, and in the wilderness forty years. | 36This man led them out and performed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, at the Red Sea, and in the wilderness 40 years." |
| 37“This is that Moses who said to the children of Israel, ‘The LORD your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brethren. Him you shall hear.’ | 37This is the Moses who said to the Israelites, God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from among your brothers. |
| 38“This is he who was in the congregation in the wilderness with the Angel who spoke to him on Mount Sinai, and with our fathers, the one who received the living oracles to give to us, | 38He is the one who was in the congregation in the wilderness together with the angel who spoke to him on Mount Sinai, and with our ancestors. He received living oracles to give to us. |
| 39whom our fathers would not obey, but rejected. And in their hearts they turned back to Egypt, | 39Our ancestors were unwilling to obey him, but pushed him away, and in their hearts turned back to Egypt. |
| 40saying to Aaron, ‘Make us gods to go before us; as for this Moses who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.’ | 40They told Aaron: Make us gods who will go before us. | 51“You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do you. | 51You stiff-necked people with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are always resisting the Holy Spirit; as your ancestors did, so do you. |
| 52Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold the coming of the Just One, of whom you now have become the betrayers and murderers, | 52Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? They even killed those who announced beforehand the coming of the Righteous One, whose betrayers and murderers you have now become. |
