KJV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]
King James BibleNew Living Translation
And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.1As Jesus was leaving the Temple grounds, his disciples pointed out to him the various Temple buildings.
And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.2But he responded, “Do you see all these buildings? I tell you the truth, they will be completely demolished. Not one stone will be left on top of another!”
And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?3Later, Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives. His disciples came to him privately and said, “Tell us, when will all this happen? What sign will signal your return and the end of the world? ”
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.4Jesus told them, “Don’t let anyone mislead you,
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.5 for many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah.’ They will deceive many.
And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.6 And you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won’t follow immediately.
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.7 Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world.
All these are the beginning of sorrows.8 But all this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come.
Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.9 “Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers.
And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.10 And many will turn away from me and betray and hate each other.
And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.11 And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people.
And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.12 Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold.
But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.14 And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come.
When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)15 “The day is coming when you will see what Daniel the prophet spoke about—the sacrilegious object that causes desecration standing in the Holy Place.” (Reader, pay attention!)
Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:16 “Then those in Judea must flee to the hills.
Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:17 A person out on the deck of a roof must not go down into the house to pack.
Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.18 A person out in the field must not return even to get a coat.
And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!19 How terrible it will be for pregnant women and for nursing mothers in those days.
But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:20 And pray that your flight will not be in winter or on the Sabbath.
For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.21 For there will be greater anguish than at any time since the world began. And it will never be so great again.
And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.22 In fact, unless that time of calamity is shortened, not a single person will survive. But it will be shortened for the sake of God’s chosen ones.
Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.23 “Then if anyone tells you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah,’ or ‘There he is,’ don’t believe it.
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.24 For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform great signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God’s chosen ones.
Behold, I have told you before.25 See, I have warned you about this ahead of time.
Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.26 “So if someone tells you, ‘Look, the Messiah is out in the desert,’ don’t bother to go and look. Or, ‘Look, he is hiding here,’ don’t believe it!
For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.27 For as the lightning flashes in the east and shines to the west, so it will be when the Son of Man comes.
For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.28 Just as the gathering of vultures shows there is a carcass nearby, so these signs indicate that the end is near.
Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:29 “Immediately after the anguish of those days, the sun will be darkened, the moon will give no light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.30 And then at last, the sign that the Son of Man is coming will appear in the heavens, and there will be deep mourning among all the peoples of the earth. And they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.31 And he will send out his angels with the mighty blast of a trumpet, and they will gather his chosen ones from all over the world —from the farthest ends of the earth and heaven.
Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:32 “Now learn a lesson from the fig tree. When its branches bud and its leaves begin to sprout, you know that summer is near.
So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.33 In the same way, when you see all these things, you can know his return is very near, right at the door.
Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.34 I tell you the truth, this generation will not pass from the scene until all these things take place.
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.35 Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear.
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.36 “However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows.
But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.37 “When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day.
For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,38 In those days before the flood, the people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat.
And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.39 People didn’t realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes.
Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.40 “Two men will be working together in the field; one will be taken, the other left.
Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.41 Two women will be grinding flour at the mill; one will be taken, the other left.
Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.42 “So you, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know what day your Lord is coming.
But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.43 Understand this: If a homeowner knew exactly when a burglar was coming, he would keep watch and not permit his house to be broken into.
Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.44 You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected.
Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?45 “A faithful, sensible servant is one to whom the master can give the responsibility of managing his other household servants and feeding them.
Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.46 If the master returns and finds that the servant has done a good job, there will be a reward.
Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.47 I tell you the truth, the master will put that servant in charge of all he owns.
But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;48 But what if the servant is evil and thinks, ‘My master won’t be back for a while,’
And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;49 and he begins beating the other servants, partying, and getting drunk?
The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,50 The master will return unannounced and unexpected,
And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.51 and he will cut the servant to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
