I commend to you our sister Phoebe, who is a deacon in the church in Cenchrea. | 1I commend to you our sister Phoebe, who is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea; |
Welcome her in the Lord as one who is worthy of honor among God’s people. Help her in whatever she needs, for she has been helpful to many, and especially to me. | 2that you receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints, and that you help her in whatever matter she may have need of you; for she herself has also been a helper of many, and of myself as well. |
Give my greetings to Priscilla and Aquila, my co-workers in the ministry of Christ Jesus. | 3Greet Prisca and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus, |
In fact, they once risked their lives for me. I am thankful to them, and so are all the Gentile churches. | 4who for my life risked their own necks, to whom not only do I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles; |
Also give my greetings to the church that meets in their home. Greet my dear friend Epenetus. He was the first person from the province of Asia to become a follower of Christ. | 5also greet the church that is in their house. Greet Epaenetus, my beloved, who is the first convert to Christ from Asia. |
Give my greetings to Mary, who has worked so hard for your benefit. | 6Greet Mary, who has worked hard for you. |
Greet Andronicus and Junia, my fellow Jews, who were in prison with me. They are highly respected among the apostles and became followers of Christ before I did. | 7Greet Andronicus and Junias, my kinsmen and my fellow prisoners, who are outstanding among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me. |
Greet Ampliatus, my dear friend in the Lord. | 8Greet Ampliatus, my beloved in the Lord. |
Greet Urbanus, our co-worker in Christ, and my dear friend Stachys. | 9Greet Urbanus, our fellow worker in Christ, and Stachys my beloved. |
Greet Apelles, a good man whom Christ approves. And give my greetings to the believers from the household of Aristobulus. | 10Greet Apelles, the approved in Christ. Greet those who are of the household of Aristobulus. |
Greet Herodion, my fellow Jew. Greet the Lord’s people from the household of Narcissus. | 11Greet Herodion, my kinsman. Greet those of the household of Narcissus, who are in the Lord. |
Give my greetings to Tryphena and Tryphosa, the Lord’s workers, and to dear Persis, who has worked so hard for the Lord. | 12Greet Tryphaena and Tryphosa, workers in the Lord. Greet Persis the beloved, who has worked hard in the Lord. |
Greet Rufus, whom the Lord picked out to be his very own; and also his dear mother, who has been a mother to me. | 13Greet Rufus, a choice man in the Lord, also his mother and mine. |
Give my greetings to Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas, and the brothers and sisters who meet with them. | 14Greet Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas and the brethren with them. |
Give my greetings to Philologus, Julia, Nereus and his sister, and to Olympas and all the believers who meet with them. | 15Greet Philologus and Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints who are with them. |
Greet each other with a sacred kiss. All the churches of Christ send you their greetings. Paul’s Final Instructions | 16Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ greet you. |
And now I make one more appeal, my dear brothers and sisters. Watch out for people who cause divisions and upset people’s faith by teaching things contrary to what you have been taught. Stay away from them. | 17Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them. |
Such people are not serving Christ our Lord; they are serving their own personal interests. By smooth talk and glowing words they deceive innocent people. | 18For such men are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting. |
But everyone knows that you are obedient to the Lord. This makes me very happy. I want you to be wise in doing right and to stay innocent of any wrong. | 19For the report of your obedience has reached to all; therefore I am rejoicing over you, but I want you to be wise in what is good and innocent in what is evil. |
The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. May the grace of our Lord Jesus be with you. | 20The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you. |
Timothy, my fellow worker, sends you his greetings, as do Lucius, Jason, and Sosipater, my fellow Jews. | 21Timothy my fellow worker greets you, and so do Lucius and Jason and Sosipater, my kinsmen. |
I, Tertius, the one writing this letter for Paul, send my greetings, too, as one of the Lord’s followers. | 22I, Tertius, who write this letter, greet you in the Lord. |
Gaius says hello to you. He is my host and also serves as host to the whole church. Erastus, the city treasurer, sends you his greetings, and so does our brother Quartus. | 23Gaius, host to me and to the whole church, greets you. Erastus, the city treasurer greets you, and Quartus, the brother. |
| 24The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. |
Now all glory to God, who is able to make you strong, just as my Good News says. This message about Jesus Christ has revealed his plan for you Gentiles, a plan kept secret from the beginning of time. | 25Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which has been kept secret for long ages past, |
But now as the prophets foretold and as the eternal God has commanded, this message is made known to all Gentiles everywhere, so that they too might believe and obey him. | 26but now is manifested, and by the Scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, has been made known to all the nations, leading to obedience of faith; |
All glory to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, forever. Amen. | 27to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, be the glory forever. Amen. |
