Paul,
an apostle—
[sent] not
from
men
nor
by
man,
but
by
Jesus
Christ
and
God
[the] Father,
who
raised
Him
from
[the] dead—
1
Παῦλος
ἀπόστολος
οὐκ
ἀπ’
ἀνθρώπων
οὐδὲ
δι’
ἀνθρώπου
ἀλλὰ
διὰ
Ἰησοῦ
Χριστοῦ
καὶ
Θεοῦ
Πατρὸς
τοῦ
ἐγείραντος
αὐτὸν
ἐκ
νεκρῶν
2
and
all
the
brothers
with
me,
To the
churches
of Galatia:
2
καὶ
οἱ
σὺν
ἐμοὶ
πάντες
ἀδελφοί
Ταῖς
ἐκκλησίαις
τῆς
Γαλατίας
3
Grace
and
peace
to you
from
God
our
Father
and
the Lord
Jesus
Christ,
3
Χάρις
ὑμῖν
καὶ
εἰρήνη
ἀπὸ
Θεοῦ
Πατρὸς
ἡμῶν
«καὶ
Κυρίου»
Ἰησοῦ
Χριστοῦ
4
who
gave
Himself
for
our
sins
to
rescue
us
from
the
present
evil
age,
according to
the
will
of our
God
and
Father,
4
τοῦ
δόντος
ἑαυτὸν
ὑπὲρ
τῶν
ἁμαρτιῶν
ἡμῶν
ὅπως
ἐξέληται
ἡμᾶς
ἐκ
τοῦ
αἰῶνος
τοῦ
ἐνεστῶτος
πονηροῦ
κατὰ
τὸ
θέλημα
τοῦ
Θεοῦ
καὶ
Πατρὸς
ἡμῶν
5
to whom [be]
glory
forever
[and]
ever.
Amen.
5
ᾧ
ἡ
δόξα
εἰς
τοὺς
αἰῶνας
τῶν
αἰώνων
ἀμήν
6
I am astonished
how
quickly
you are deserting
the [One who]
called
you
by
[the] grace
of Christ
[and are turning] to
a different
gospel—
6
Θαυμάζω
ὅτι
οὕτως
ταχέως
μετατίθεσθε
ἀπὸ
τοῦ
καλέσαντος
ὑμᾶς
ἐν
χάριτι
Χριστοῦ
εἰς
ἕτερον
εὐαγγέλιον
7
which
is
not even
[a gospel].
Evidently
some
[people]
are
troubling
you
and
trying
to distort
the
gospel
of Christ.
7
ὃ
οὐκ
ἔστιν
ἄλλο
εἰ
μή
τινές
εἰσιν
οἱ
ταράσσοντες
ὑμᾶς
καὶ
θέλοντες
μεταστρέψαι
τὸ
εὐαγγέλιον
τοῦ
Χριστοῦ
8
But
even
if
we
or
an angel
from
heaven
should preach a gospel
contrary to
the one
we preached
to you,
let him be
under a divine curse!
8
Ἀλλὰ
καὶ
ἐὰν
ἡμεῖς
ἢ
ἄγγελος
ἐξ
οὐρανοῦ
εὐαγγελίζηται*
ὑμῖν
παρ’
ὃ
εὐηγγελισάμεθα
ὑμῖν
ἀνάθεμα
ἔστω
9
As
we have said before,
so
now
I say
again:
If
anyone
is preaching to you a gospel
contrary to
the one
you embraced,
let him be
under a divine curse!
9
ὡς
προειρήκαμεν
καὶ
ἄρτι
πάλιν
λέγω
εἴ
τις
ὑμᾶς
εὐαγγελίζεται
παρ’
ὃ
παρελάβετε
ἀνάθεμα
ἔστω
10
{Am I} now
seeking the approval
of men,
or
of God?
Or
am I striving
to please
men?
If
I were still trying to please
men,
I would not be
a servant
of Christ.
10
Ἄρτι
γὰρ
ἀνθρώπους
πείθω
ἢ
τὸν
Θεόν
ἢ
ζητῶ
ἀνθρώποις
ἀρέσκειν
εἰ
ἔτι
ἀνθρώποις
ἤρεσκον
Χριστοῦ
δοῦλος
οὐκ
ἂν
ἤμην
11
For
I certify
to you,
brothers,
[that] the
gospel
I preached
is
not
devised by
man.
11
γνωρίζω
γὰρ
ὑμῖν
ἀδελφοί
τὸ
εὐαγγέλιον
τὸ
εὐαγγελισθὲν
ὑπ’
ἐμοῦ
ὅτι
οὐκ
ἔστιν
κατὰ
ἄνθρωπον
12
I
did not
receive
it
from
any man,
nor
was I taught [it];
rather, [ I received it ]
by
revelation
from Jesus
Christ.
12
οὐδὲ
γὰρ
ἐγὼ
παρὰ
ἀνθρώπου
παρέλαβον
αὐτό
οὔτε
ἐδιδάχθην
ἀλλὰ
δι’
ἀποκαλύψεως
Ἰησοῦ
Χριστοῦ
13
For
you have heard of
my
former
way of life
in
Judaism,
how
severely
I persecuted
the
church
of God
and
tried to destroy
it.
13
Ἠκούσατε
γὰρ
τὴν
ἐμὴν
ἀναστροφήν
ποτε
ἐν
τῷ
Ἰουδαϊσμῷ
ὅτι
καθ’
ὑπερβολὴν
ἐδίωκον
τὴν
ἐκκλησίαν
τοῦ
Θεοῦ
καὶ
ἐπόρθουν
αὐτήν
14
I was advancing
in
Judaism
beyond
many
of my contemporaries
[and] was
extremely
zealous
for the
traditions
of my
fathers.
14
καὶ
προέκοπτον
ἐν
τῷ
Ἰουδαϊσμῷ
ὑπὲρ
πολλοὺς
συνηλικιώτας
ἐν
τῷ
γένει
μου
περισσοτέρως
ζηλωτὴς
ὑπάρχων
τῶν
πατρικῶν
μου
παραδόσεων
15
But
when
God,
who
set me apart
from
my
mother’s
womb
and
called [me]
by
His
grace,
was pleased
15
Ὅτε
δὲ
εὐδόκησεν
[ὁ
θεὸς]
ὁ
ἀφορίσας
με
ἐκ
κοιλίας
μητρός
μου
καὶ
καλέσας
διὰ
τῆς
χάριτος
αὐτοῦ
16
to reveal
His
Son
in
me
so that
I might preach
Him
among
the
Gentiles,
I did not rush to consult
with flesh
and
blood,
16
ἀποκαλύψαι
τὸν
Υἱὸν
αὐτοῦ
ἐν
ἐμοὶ
ἵνα
εὐαγγελίζωμαι
αὐτὸν
ἐν
τοῖς
ἔθνεσιν
εὐθέως
οὐ
προσανεθέμην
σαρκὶ
καὶ
αἵματι
17
nor
did I go up
to
Jerusalem
to
the
apostles
[who came] before
me,
but
I went
into
Arabia
and
[later]
returned
to
Damascus.
17
οὐδὲ
ἀνῆλθον
εἰς
Ἱεροσόλυμα
πρὸς
τοὺς
πρὸ
ἐμοῦ
ἀποστόλους
ἀλλὰ
ἀπῆλθον
εἰς
Ἀραβίαν
καὶ
πάλιν
ὑπέστρεψα
εἰς
Δαμασκόν
18
Only after
three
years
did I go up
to
Jerusalem
to confer with
Cephas,
and
I stayed
with
him
fifteen
days.
18
Ἔπειτα
μετὰ
τρία
ἔτη
ἀνῆλθον
εἰς
Ἱεροσόλυμα
ἱστορῆσαι
Κηφᾶν
καὶ
ἐπέμεινα
πρὸς
αὐτὸν
ἡμέρας
δεκαπέντε
19
But
I saw
none
of the
other
apostles
except
James,
the
Lord’s
brother.
19
ἕτερον
δὲ
τῶν
ἀποστόλων
οὐκ
εἶδον
εἰ
μὴ
Ἰάκωβον
τὸν
ἀδελφὸν
τοῦ
Κυρίου
20
I assure you
before
God
that
what
I am writing
to you
is no lie.
20
ἃ
δὲ
γράφω
ὑμῖν
ἰδοὺ
ἐνώπιον
τοῦ
Θεοῦ
ὅτι
οὐ
ψεύδομαι
21
Later
I went
to
the
regions
of Syria
and
Cilicia.
21
Ἔπειτα
ἦλθον
εἰς
τὰ
κλίματα
τῆς
Συρίας
καὶ
τῆς
Κιλικίας
22
I was
personally
unknown,
however,
to the
churches
of Judea
that [are]
in
Christ.
22
ἤμην
δὲ
ἀγνοούμενος
τῷ
προσώπῳ
ταῖς
ἐκκλησίαις
τῆς
Ἰουδαίας
ταῖς
ἐν
Χριστῷ
23
They
only
heard
the account:
“The [man who]
formerly
persecuted
us
{is} now
preaching
the
faith
{he} once
tried to destroy.”
23
μόνον
δὲ
ἀκούοντες
ἦσαν
ὅτι
Ὁ
διώκων
ἡμᾶς
ποτε
νῦν
εὐαγγελίζεται
τὴν
πίστιν
ἥν
ποτε
ἐπόρθει
24
And
they glorified
God
because of
me.
24
καὶ
ἐδόξαζον
ἐν
ἐμοὶ
τὸν
Θεόν
