| 3His clothes became shining, exceedingly white, like snow, such as no launderer on earth can whiten them. | 3and his clothes became radiantly white, more so than any launderer in the world could bleach them. |
| 4And Elijah appeared to them with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus. | 4Then Elijah appeared before them along with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus. |

| 13But I say to you that Elijah has also come, and they did to him whatever they wished, as it is written of him.” | 13But I tell you that Elijah has certainly come, and they did to him whatever they wanted, just as it is written about him." |
| 14And when He came to the disciples, He saw a great multitude around them, and scribes disputing with them. | 14When they came to the disciples, they saw a large crowd around them and experts in the law arguing with them. |
| 15Immediately, when they saw Him, all the people were greatly amazed, and running to Him, greeted Him. | 15When the whole crowd saw him, they were amazed and ran at once and greeted him. |

| 17Then one of the crowd answered and said, “Teacher, I brought You my son, who has a mute spirit. | 17A member of the crowd said to him, "Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that makes him mute. |
| 18And wherever it seizes him, it throws him down; he foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth, and becomes rigid. So I spoke to Your disciples, that they should cast it out, but they could not.” | 18Whenever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams at the mouth, grinds his teeth, and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to cast it out, but they were not able to do so." |
| 19He answered him and said, “O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to Me.” | 19He answered them, "You unbelieving generation! How much longer must I be with you? How much longer must I endure you? Bring him to me." |
| 20Then they brought him to Him. And when he saw Him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground and wallowed, foaming at the mouth. | 20So they brought the boy to him. | 21So He asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood. | 21Jesus asked his father, "How long has this been happening to him?" And he said, "From childhood. |
| 22And often he has thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.” | 22It has often thrown him into fire or water to destroy him. But if you are able to do anything, have compassion on us and help us." |

| 31For He taught His disciples and said to them, “The Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of men, and they will kill Him. | 38Now John answered Him, saying, “Teacher, we saw someone who does not follow us casting out demons in Your name, and we forbade him because he does not follow us.” | 38John said to him, "Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we tried to stop him because he was not following us." |
| 39But Jesus said, “Do not forbid him, for no one who works a miracle in My name can soon afterward speak evil of Me. | 39But Jesus said, "Do not stop him, because no one who does a miracle in my name will be able soon afterward to say anything bad about me. |
| 40For he who is not against us is on our side. | 40For whoever is not against us is for us. |
| 41For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in My name, because you belong to Christ, assuredly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward. | 41For I tell you the truth, whoever gives you a cup of water because you bear Christ's name will never lose his reward. |
| 42“But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea. | 42"If anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a huge millstone tied around his neck and to be thrown into the sea. |
| 43If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched— | 43If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off! It is better for you to enter into life crippled than to have two hands and go into hell, to the unquenchable fire. |
| 44where ‘Their worm does not die And the fire is not quenched.’ | 44 |
| 45And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame, rather than having two feet, to be cast into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched— | 45If your foot causes you to sin, cut it off! It is better to enter life lame than to have two feet and be thrown into hell. |
| 46where ‘Their worm does not die And the fire is not quenched.’ | 46 |
| 47And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire— | 47If your eye causes you to sin, tear it out! It is better to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, |
| 48where ‘Their worm does not die And the fire is not quenched.’ | 48where their worm never dies and the fire is never quenched. |
| 49“For everyone will be seasoned with fire, and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt. | 49Everyone will be salted with fire. |
