NIV Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New International VersionNew American Standard Bible 1995
Praise the LORD. Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.1Praise the LORD! Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; For His lovingkindness is everlasting.
Who can proclaim the mighty acts of the LORD or fully declare his praise?2Who can speak of the mighty deeds of the LORD, Or can show forth all His praise?
Blessed are those who act justly, who always do what is right.3How blessed are those who keep justice, Who practice righteousness at all times!
Remember me, LORD, when you show favor to your people, come to my aid when you save them,4Remember me, O LORD, in Your favor toward Your people; Visit me with Your salvation,
that I may enjoy the prosperity of your chosen ones, that I may share in the joy of your nation and join your inheritance in giving praise.5That I may see the prosperity of Your chosen ones, That I may rejoice in the gladness of Your nation, That I may glory with Your inheritance.
We have sinned, even as our ancestors did; we have done wrong and acted wickedly.6We have sinned like our fathers, We have committed iniquity, we have behaved wickedly.
When our ancestors were in Egypt, they gave no thought to your miracles; they did not remember your many kindnesses, and they rebelled by the sea, the Red Sea.7Our fathers in Egypt did not understand Your wonders; They did not remember Your abundant kindnesses, But rebelled by the sea, at the Red Sea.
Yet he saved them for his name's sake, to make his mighty power known.8Nevertheless He saved them for the sake of His name, That He might make His power known.
He rebuked the Red Sea, and it dried up; he led them through the depths as through a desert.9Thus He rebuked the Red Sea and it dried up, And He led them through the deeps, as through the wilderness.
He saved them from the hand of the foe; from the hand of the enemy he redeemed them.10So He saved them from the hand of the one who hated them, And redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
The waters covered their adversaries; not one of them survived.11The waters covered their adversaries; Not one of them was left.
Then they believed his promises and sang his praise.12Then they believed His words; They sang His praise.
But they soon forgot what he had done and did not wait for his plan to unfold.13They quickly forgot His works; They did not wait for His counsel,
In the desert they gave in to their craving; in the wilderness they put God to the test.14But craved intensely in the wilderness, And tempted God in the desert.
So he gave them what they asked for, but sent a wasting disease among them.15So He gave them their request, But sent a wasting disease among them.
In the camp they grew envious of Moses and of Aaron, who was consecrated to the LORD.16When they became envious of Moses in the camp, And of Aaron, the holy one of the LORD,
The earth opened up and swallowed Dathan; it buried the company of Abiram.17The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, And engulfed the company of Abiram.
Fire blazed among their followers; a flame consumed the wicked.18And a fire blazed up in their company; The flame consumed the wicked.
At Horeb they made a calf and worshiped an idol cast from metal.19They made a calf in Horeb And worshiped a molten image.
They exchanged their glorious God for an image of a bull, which eats grass.20Thus they exchanged their glory For the image of an ox that eats grass.
They forgot the God who saved them, who had done great things in Egypt,21They forgot God their Savior, Who had done great things in Egypt,
miracles in the land of Ham and awesome deeds by the Red Sea.22Wonders in the land of Ham And awesome things by the Red Sea.
So he said he would destroy them-- had not Moses, his chosen one, stood in the breach before him to keep his wrath from destroying them.23Therefore He said that He would destroy them, Had not Moses His chosen one stood in the breach before Him, To turn away His wrath from destroying them.
Then they despised the pleasant land; they did not believe his promise.24Then they despised the pleasant land; They did not believe in His word,
They grumbled in their tents and did not obey the LORD.25But grumbled in their tents; They did not listen to the voice of the LORD.
So he swore to them with uplifted hand that he would make them fall in the wilderness,26Therefore He swore to them That He would cast them down in the wilderness,
make their descendants fall among the nations and scatter them throughout the lands.27And that He would cast their seed among the nations And scatter them in the lands.
They yoked themselves to the Baal of Peor and ate sacrifices offered to lifeless gods;28They joined themselves also to Baal-peor, And ate sacrifices offered to the dead.
they aroused the LORD's anger by their wicked deeds, and a plague broke out among them.29Thus they provoked Him to anger with their deeds, And the plague broke out among them.
But Phinehas stood up and intervened, and the plague was checked.30Then Phinehas stood up and interposed, And so the plague was stayed.
This was credited to him as righteousness for endless generations to come.31And it was reckoned to him for righteousness, To all generations forever.
By the waters of Meribah they angered the LORD, and trouble came to Moses because of them;32They also provoked Him to wrath at the waters of Meribah, So that it went hard with Moses on their account;
for they rebelled against the Spirit of God, and rash words came from Moses' lips.33Because they were rebellious against His Spirit, He spoke rashly with his lips.
They did not destroy the peoples as the LORD had commanded them,34They did not destroy the peoples, As the LORD commanded them,
but they mingled with the nations and adopted their customs.35But they mingled with the nations And learned their practices,
They worshiped their idols, which became a snare to them.36And served their idols, Which became a snare to them.
They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to false gods.37They even sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons,
They shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was desecrated by their blood.38And shed innocent blood, The blood of their sons and their daughters, Whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan; And the land was polluted with the blood.
They defiled themselves by what they did; by their deeds they prostituted themselves.39Thus they became unclean in their practices, And played the harlot in their deeds.
Therefore the LORD was angry with his people and abhorred his inheritance.40Therefore the anger of the LORD was kindled against His people And He abhorred His inheritance.
He gave them into the hands of the nations, and their foes ruled over them.41Then He gave them into the hand of the nations, And those who hated them ruled over them.
Their enemies oppressed them and subjected them to their power.42Their enemies also oppressed them, And they were subdued under their power.
Many times he delivered them, but they were bent on rebellion and they wasted away in their sin.43Many times He would deliver them; They, however, were rebellious in their counsel, And so sank down in their iniquity.
Yet he took note of their distress when he heard their cry;44Nevertheless He looked upon their distress When He heard their cry;
for their sake he remembered his covenant and out of his great love he relented.45And He remembered His covenant for their sake, And relented according to the greatness of His lovingkindness.
He caused all who held them captive to show them mercy.46He also made them objects of compassion In the presence of all their captors.
Save us, LORD our God, and gather us from the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise.47Save us, O LORD our God, And gather us from among the nations, To give thanks to Your holy name And glory in Your praise.
Praise be to the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Let all the people say, "Amen!" Praise the LORD.48Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, From everlasting even to everlasting. And let all the people say, "Amen." Praise the LORD!
