(heaven) καὶ (and) ἡ (the) πρώτη (first) γῆ (earth) ἀπῆλθαν (had passed away), καὶ (and) ἡ (the) θάλασσα (sea) οὐκ (not) ἔστιν (is) ἔτι (any longer). 2καὶ (And) τὴν (the) πόλιν (city) τὴν (-) ἁγίαν (holy), Ἰερουσαλὴμ (the Jerusalem) καινὴν (new), εἶδον (I saw) καταβαίνουσαν (coming down) ἐκ (out of) τοῦ (-) οὐρανοῦ (heaven) ἀπὸ (from) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (God), ἡτοιμασμένην (having been prepared) ὡς (as) νύμφην (a bride) κεκοσμημένην (having been adorned) τῷ (for the) ἀνδρὶ (husband) αὐτῆς (of her). 3Καὶ (And) ἤκουσα (I heard) φωνῆς (a voice) μεγάλης (great) ἐκ (from) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne), λεγούσης (saying): “Ἰδοὺ (Behold), ἡ (the) σκηνὴ (tabernacle) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) μετὰ (is with) τῶν (-) ἀνθρώπων (men), καὶ (and) σκηνώσει (He will tabernacle) μετ’ (with) αὐτῶν (them), καὶ (and) αὐτοὶ (they) λαοὶ (peoples) αὐτοῦ (of Him) ἔσονται (will be), καὶ (and) αὐτὸς (Himself) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) μετ’ (with) αὐτῶν (them) ἔσται (will be) [αὐτῶν (as their) θεός] (God).b 4καὶ (And) ἐξαλείψει (He will wipe away) πᾶν (every) δάκρυον (tear) ἐκ (from) τῶν (the) ὀφθαλμῶν (eyes) αὐτῶν (of them),c καὶ (and) ὁ (-) θάνατος (death) οὐκ (not) ἔσται (will be) ἔτι (any longer) οὔτε (nor) πένθος (mourning) οὔτε (nor) κραυγὴ (crying) οὔτε (nor) πόνος (pain); οὐκ (not) ἔσται (they will be) ἔτι (any longer), ὅτι (because) τὰ (the) πρῶτα (former things) ἀπῆλθαν (have passed away).” 5Καὶ (And) εἶπεν (said) ὁ (the One) καθήμενος (sitting) ἐπὶ (on) τῷ (the) θρόνῳ (throne), “Ἰδοὺ (Behold), καινὰ (new) ποιῶ (I make) πάντα (all things).” καὶ (And) λέγει (He says), “Γράψον (Write this), ὅτι (because) οὗτοι (these) οἱ (the) λόγοι (words) πιστοὶ (faithful) καὶ (and) ἀληθινοί (true) εἰσιν (are).” 6καὶ (And) εἶπέν (He said) μοι (to me), “Γέγοναν (It is done)! ἐγὼ (I) [εἰμι] (am) τὸ (the) Ἄλφα (Alpha) καὶ (and) τὸ (the) Ὦ (Omega), ἡ (the) ἀρχὴ (beginning) καὶ (and) τὸ (the) τέλος (end). ἐγὼ (I) τῷ (to the one) διψῶντι (thirsting) δώσω (will give) ἐκ (of) τῆς (the) πηγῆς (spring) τοῦ (of the) ὕδατος (water) τῆς (-) ζωῆς (of life) δωρεάν (freely). 7ὁ (The one) νικῶν (overcoming) κληρονομήσει (will inherit) ταῦτα (all things), καὶ (and) ἔσομαι (I will be) αὐτῷ (his) Θεὸς (God), καὶ (and) αὐτὸς (he) ἔσται (will be) μοι (My) υἱός (son). 8Τοῖς (-) δὲ (But) δειλοῖς (to the cowardly) καὶ (and) ἀπίστοις (unbelieving) καὶ (and) ἐβδελυγμένοις (having become abominable) καὶ (and) φονεῦσιν (murderers) καὶ (and) πόρνοις (the sexually immoral) καὶ (and) φαρμάκοις (sorcerers) καὶ (and) εἰδωλολάτραις (idolaters) καὶ (and) πᾶσιν (all) τοῖς (-) ψευδέσιν (liars), τὸ (the) μέρος (portion) αὐτῶν (of them) ἐν (is in) τῇ (the) λίμνῃ (lake) τῇ (-) καιομένῃ (burning) πυρὶ (with fire) καὶ (and) θείῳ (brimstone), ὅ (which) ἐστιν (is) ὁ (the) θάνατος (death) ὁ (-) δεύτερος (second).” The New Jerusalem 9Καὶ (And) ἦλθεν (came) εἷς (one) ἐκ (of) τῶν (the) ἑπτὰ (seven) ἀγγέλων (angels), τῶν (-) ἐχόντων (having) τὰς (the) ἑπτὰ (seven) φιάλας (bowls) τῶν (-) γεμόντων (being full) τῶν (of the) ἑπτὰ (seven) πληγῶν (plagues) τῶν (-) ἐσχάτων (last), καὶ (and) ἐλάλησεν (spoke) μετ’ (with) ἐμοῦ (me), λέγων (saying), “Δεῦρο (Come here), δείξω (I will show) σοι (you) τὴν (the) νύμφην (bride), τὴν (the) γυναῖκα (wife) τοῦ (of the) ἀρνίου (Lamb).” 10Καὶ (And) ἀπήνεγκέν (he carried away) με (me) ἐν (in) Πνεύματι (the Spirit) ἐπὶ (to) ὄρος (a mountain) μέγα (great) καὶ (and) ὑψηλόν (high), καὶ (and) ἔδειξέν (he showed) μοι (me) τὴν (the) πόλιν (city) τὴν (-) ἁγίαν (holy) Ἰερουσαλὴμ (Jerusalem), καταβαίνουσαν (descending) ἐκ (out of) τοῦ (-) οὐρανοῦ (heaven) ἀπὸ (from) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (God), 11ἔχουσαν (having) τὴν (the) δόξαν (glory) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God). ὁ (The) φωστὴρ (radiance) αὐτῆς (of it) ὅμοιος (was like) λίθῳ (a stone) τιμιωτάτῳ (most precious), ὡς (like) λίθῳ (a stone) ἰάσπιδι (jasper) κρυσταλλίζοντι (being clear as crystal), 12ἔχουσα (having) τεῖχος (a wall) μέγα (great) καὶ (and) ὑψηλόν (high), ἔχουσα (having) πυλῶνας (gates) δώδεκα (twelve), καὶ (and) ἐπὶ (at) τοῖς (the) πυλῶσιν (gates) ἀγγέλους (angels) δώδεκα (twelve), καὶ (and) ὀνόματα (names) ἐπιγεγραμμένα (having been inscribed), ἅ (which) ἐστιν (are) [τὰ (the) ὀνόματα] (names) τῶν (of the) δώδεκα (twelve) φυλῶν (tribes) υἱῶν (of the sons) Ἰσραήλ (of Israel). 13ἀπὸ (On) ἀνατολῆς (the east) πυλῶνες (were gates) τρεῖς (three), καὶ (and) ἀπὸ (on) βορρᾶ (the north) πυλῶνες (gates) τρεῖς (three), καὶ (and) ἀπὸ (on) νότου (the south) πυλῶνες (gates) τρεῖς (three), καὶ (and) ἀπὸ (on) δυσμῶν (the west) πυλῶνες (gates) τρεῖς (three). 14καὶ (And) τὸ (the) τεῖχος (wall) τῆς (of the) πόλεως (city) ἔχων (had) θεμελίους (foundations) δώδεκα (twelve), καὶ (and) ἐπ’ (in) αὐτῶν (them) δώδεκα (the twelve) ὀνόματα (names) τῶν (of the) δώδεκα (twelve) ἀποστόλων (apostles) τοῦ (of the) Ἀρνίου (Lamb). 15Καὶ (And) ὁ (the one) λαλῶν (speaking) μετ’ (with) ἐμοῦ (me) εἶχεν (had) μέτρον (a measuring) κάλαμον (reed) χρυσοῦν (golden), ἵνα (so that) μετρήσῃ (he could measure) τὴν (the) πόλιν (city), καὶ (and) τοὺς (the) πυλῶνας (gates) αὐτῆς (of it), καὶ (and) τὸ (the) τεῖχος (wall) αὐτῆς (of it). 16καὶ (And) ἡ (the) πόλις (city) τετράγωνος (foursquare) κεῖται (lies), καὶ (and) τὸ (the) μῆκος (length) αὐτῆς (of it is) ὅσον (the same as) [καὶ] (also) τὸ (the) πλάτος (width). καὶ (And) ἐμέτρησεν (he measured) τὴν (the) πόλιν (city) τῷ (with the) καλάμῳ (reed), ἐπὶ (at) σταδίων (stadia) δώδεκα (twelve) χιλιάδων (thousand).d τὸ (The) μῆκος (length) καὶ (and) τὸ (the) πλάτος (breadth) καὶ (and) τὸ (the) ὕψος (height) αὐτῆς (of it) ἴσα (equal) ἐστίν (are). 17καὶ (And) ἐμέτρησεν (he (the) δώδεκα (twelve) πυλῶνες (gates were) δώδεκα (twelve) μαργαρῖται (pearls); ἀνὰ (respectively) εἷς (one) ἕκαστος (each) τῶν (of the) πυλώνων (gates) ἦν (was) ἐξ (of) ἑνὸς (one) μαργαρίτου (pearl). καὶ (and) ἡ (the) πλατεῖα (street) τῆς (of the) πόλεως (city) χρυσίον (gold), καθαρὸν (pure) ὡς (as) ὕαλος (glass) διαυγής (transparent). 22Καὶ (And) ναὸν (temple) οὐκ (not) εἶδον (I saw) ἐν (in) αὐτῇ (it); ὁ (-) γὰρ (for) Κύριος (the Lord) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) ὁ (-) Παντοκράτωρ (Almighty), ναὸς (temple) αὐτῆς (of it) ἐστιν (is), καὶ (and) τὸ (the) Ἀρνίον (Lamb). 23καὶ (And) ἡ (the) πόλις (city) οὐ (no) χρείαν (need) ἔχει (has) τοῦ (of the) ἡλίου (sun), οὐδὲ (nor) τῆς (of the) σελήνης (moon), ἵνα (that) φαίνωσιν (they should shine) αὐτῇ (in it); ἡ (the) γὰρ (for) δόξα (glory) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) ἐφώτισεν (enlightened) αὐτήν (it), καὶ (and) ὁ (the) λύχνος (lamp) αὐτῆς (of it) τὸ (is the) Ἀρνίον (Lamb). 24καὶ (And) περιπατήσουσιν (will walk) τὰ (the) ἔθνη (nations) διὰ (by) τοῦ (the) φωτὸς (light) αὐτῆς (of it), καὶ (and) οἱ (the) βασιλεῖς (kings) τῆς (of the) γῆς (earth) φέρουσιν (bring) τὴν (the) δόξαν (glory)f αὐτῶν (of them) εἰς (into) αὐτήν (it). 25καὶ (And) οἱ (the) πυλῶνες (gates) αὐτῆς (of it) οὐ (no) μὴ (not) κλεισθῶσιν (shall be shut) ἡμέρας (by day), νὺξ (night) γὰρ (for) οὐκ (not) ἔσται (will be) ἐκεῖ (there). 26Καὶ (And) οἴσουσιν (they will bring) τὴν (the) δόξαν (glory) καὶ (and) τὴν (the) τιμὴν (honor) τῶν (of the) ἐθνῶν (nations) εἰς (into) αὐτήν (it).
