| 1After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go. | 1After this, the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of Him to every town and place He was about to visit. |
| 2Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. | 2And He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest. |
| 3Go your way; behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves. | 3Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves. |

| 7And remain in the same house, eating and drinking such things as they give, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. | 11‘The very dust of your city which clings to us we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that the kingdom of God has come near you.’ | 11‘Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet, we wipe off as a testimony against you. Yet be sure of this: The kingdom of God is near.’ |
| 12But I say to you that it will be more tolerable in that Day for Sodom than for that city. | 12I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town. |
| 13“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. | 13Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. |

| 21In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. | 21At that time Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and declared, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was well-pleasing in Your sight. |
| 22All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.” | 22All things have been entrusted to Me by My Father. | 26He said to him, “What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?” | 26“What is written in the Law?” Jesus replied. “How do you read it?” |
| 27So he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’ ” | 27He answered, “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’ and ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ ” |
| 28And He said to him, “You have answered rightly; do this and you will live.” | 28“You have answered correctly,” Jesus said. “Do this and you will live.” |

| 42But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” | 42But only one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, and it will not be taken away from her.” |
