Berean Interlinear Bible Request for Prayer 1Τὸ (-) λοιπὸν (Finally), προσεύχεσθε (pray), ἀδελφοί (brothers), περὶ (for) ἡμῶν (us), ἵνα (that) ὁ (the) λόγος (word) τοῦ (of the) Κυρίου (Lord) τρέχῃ (may spread quickly) καὶ (and) δοξάζηται (may be glorified), καθὼς (just as) καὶ (also) πρὸς (with) ὑμᾶς (you), 2καὶ (and) ἵνα (that) ῥυσθῶμεν (we may be delivered) ἀπὸ (from) τῶν (-) ἀτόπων (perverse) καὶ (and) πονηρῶν (evil) ἀνθρώπων (men); οὐ (not) γὰρ (for) πάντων (all are) ἡ (of the) πίστις (faith). 3Πιστὸς (Faithful) δέ (however) ἐστιν (is) ὁ (the) Κύριος (Lord), ὃς (who) στηρίξει (will strengthen) ὑμᾶς (you) καὶ (and) φυλάξει (will keep you) ἀπὸ (from) τοῦ (-) πονηροῦ (evil). 4πεποίθαμεν (We are persuaded) δὲ (now) ἐν (in) Κυρίῳ (the Lord) ἐφ’ (as to) ὑμᾶς (you), ὅτι (that) ἃ (the things that) παραγγέλλομεν (we command), καὶ (both) ποιεῖτε (you are doing) καὶ (and) ποιήσετε (you will do). 5Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) Κύριος (the Lord) κατευθύναι (may direct) ὑμῶν (your) τὰς (-) καρδίας (hearts) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) ἀγάπην (love) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) καὶ (and) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) ὑπομονὴν (steadfastness) τοῦ (-) Χριστοῦ (of Christ). Warning against Irresponsibility 6Παραγγέλλομεν (We command) δὲ (now) ὑμῖν (you), ἀδελφοί (brothers), ἐν (in) ὀνόματι (the name) τοῦ (of the) Κυρίου (Lord) ‹ἡμῶν› (of us) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus) Χριστοῦ (Christ), στέλλεσθαι (are to withdraw) ὑμᾶς (you) ἀπὸ (from) παντὸς (every) ἀδελφοῦ (brother) ἀτάκτως (idly) περιπατοῦντος (walking) καὶ (and) μὴ (not) κατὰ (according to) τὴν (the) παράδοσιν (tradition) ἣν (that) παρελάβοσαν* (you received) παρ’ (from) ἡμῶν (us). 7αὐτοὶ (Yourselves) γὰρ (for) οἴδατε (you know) πῶς (how) δεῖ (it behooves you) μιμεῖσθαι (to imitate) ἡμᾶς (us), ὅτι (because) οὐκ (not) ἠτακτήσαμεν (we were idle) ἐν (among) ὑμῖν (you), 8οὐδὲ (nor) δωρεὰν (without payment) ἄρτον (bread) ἐφάγομεν (did we eat) παρά (from) τινος (anyone), ἀλλ’ (but) ἐν (in) κόπῳ (labor) καὶ (and) μόχθῳ (hardship), νυκτὸς (night) καὶ (and) ἡμέρας (day) ἐργαζόμενοι (working), πρὸς (in order) τὸ (-) μὴ (not) ἐπιβαρῆσαί (to be burdensome to) τινα (any) ὑμῶν (of you), 9οὐχ (not) ὅτι (that) οὐκ (not) ἔχομεν (we have) ἐξουσίαν (the right), ἀλλ’ (but) ἵνα (that) ἑαυτοὺς (ourselves) τύπον (as an example) δῶμεν (we may offer) ὑμῖν (to you), εἰς (for) τὸ (-) μιμεῖσθαι (you to imitate) ἡμᾶς (us). 10καὶ (Even) γὰρ (for) ὅτε (when) ἦμεν (we were) πρὸς (with) ὑμᾶς (you), τοῦτο (this) παρηγγέλλομεν (we were commanding) ὑμῖν (you), ὅτι (that) “Εἴ (if) τις (anyone) οὐ (not) θέλει (is willing) ἐργάζεσθαι (to work), μηδὲ (neither) ἐσθιέτω (let him eat).” 11Ἀκούομεν (We hear) γάρ (for) τινας (some) περιπατοῦντας (are walking) ἐν (among) ὑμῖν (you) ἀτάκτως (idly), μηδὲν (not at all) ἐργαζομένους (working), ἀλλὰ (but) περιεργαζομένους (being busybodies). 12τοῖς (To) δὲ (now) τοιούτοις (such), παραγγέλλομεν (we warn) καὶ (and) παρακαλοῦμεν (exhort) ἐν (by) Κυρίῳ (our Lord) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus) Χριστῷ (Christ), ἵνα (so that), μετὰ (with) ἡσυχίας (quietness) ἐργαζόμενοι (working), τὸν (-) ἑαυτῶν (their own) ἄρτον (bread) ἐσθίωσιν (they may eat). 13Ὑμεῖς (You) δέ (now), ἀδελφοί (brothers), μὴ (not) ἐγκακήσητε (shall grow weary) καλοποιοῦντες (in well-doing). 14Εἰ (If) δέ (then) τις (anyone) οὐχ (not) ὑπακούει (obey) τῷ (this) λόγῳ (instruction) ἡμῶν (of us) διὰ (through) τῆς (the) ἐπιστολῆς (letter), τοῦτον (of this man) σημειοῦσθε (take note) μὴ (not) συναναμίγνυσθαι (to mix with) αὐτῷ (him), ἵνα (so that) ἐντραπῇ (he may be ashamed). 15καὶ (And yet) μὴ (not) ὡς (as) ἐχθρὸν (an enemy) ἡγεῖσθε (esteem him), ἀλλὰ (but) νουθετεῖτε (admonish him) ὡς (as) ἀδελφόν (a brother).
