NKJV Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionNew American Standard Bible 1995
A Prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations.1A Prayer of Moses, the man of God. Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations.
Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.2Before the mountains were born Or You gave birth to the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.
You turn man to destruction, And say, “Return, O children of men.”3You turn man back into dust And say, "Return, O children of men."
For a thousand years in Your sight Are like yesterday when it is past, And like a watch in the night.4For a thousand years in Your sight Are like yesterday when it passes by, Or as a watch in the night.
You carry them away like a flood; They are like a sleep. In the morning they are like grass which grows up:5You have swept them away like a flood, they fall asleep; In the morning they are like grass which sprouts anew.
In the morning it flourishes and grows up; In the evening it is cut down and withers.6In the morning it flourishes and sprouts anew; Toward evening it fades and withers away.
For we have been consumed by Your anger, And by Your wrath we are terrified.7For we have been consumed by Your anger And by Your wrath we have been dismayed.
You have set our iniquities before You, Our secret sins in the light of Your countenance.8You have placed our iniquities before You, Our secret sins in the light of Your presence.
For all our days have passed away in Your wrath; We finish our years like a sigh.9For all our days have declined in Your fury; We have finished our years like a sigh.
The days of our lives are seventy years; And if by reason of strength they are eighty years, Yet their boast is only labor and sorrow; For it is soon cut off, and we fly away.10As for the days of our life, they contain seventy years, Or if due to strength, eighty years, Yet their pride is but labor and sorrow; For soon it is gone and we fly away.
Who knows the power of Your anger? For as the fear of You, so is Your wrath.11Who understands the power of Your anger And Your fury, according to the fear that is due You?
So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom.12So teach us to number our days, That we may present to You a heart of wisdom.
Return, O LORD! How long? And have compassion on Your servants.13Do return, O LORD; how long will it be? And be sorry for Your servants.
Oh, satisfy us early with Your mercy, That we may rejoice and be glad all our days!14O satisfy us in the morning with Your lovingkindness, That we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
Make us glad according to the days in which You have afflicted us, The years in which we have seen evil.15Make us glad according to the days You have afflicted us, And the years we have seen evil.
Let Your work appear to Your servants, And Your glory to their children.16Let Your work appear to Your servants And Your majesty to their children.
And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us, And establish the work of our hands for us; Yes, establish the work of our hands.17Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us; And confirm for us the work of our hands; Yes, confirm the work of our hands.
