1אָדָ֥ם שֵׁ֖ת אֱנֽוֹשׁ׃

2Cainan, Mahalalel, Jared,

2קֵינָ֥ן מַהֲלַלְאֵ֖ל יָֽרֶד׃

3Enoch, Methuselah, Lamech,

3חֲנ֥וֹךְ מְתוּשֶׁ֖לַח לָֽמֶךְ׃

4Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

4נֹ֥חַ שֵׁ֖ם חָ֥ם וָיָֽפֶת׃ ס

5The sons of Japheth were Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.

5בְּנֵ֣י יֶ֔פֶת גֹּ֣מֶר וּמָג֔וֹג וּמָדַ֖י וְיָוָ֣ן וְתֻבָ֑ל וּמֶ֖שֶׁךְ וְתִירָֽס׃ ס

6The sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz, Diphath, and Togarmah.

6וּבְנֵ֖י גֹּ֑מֶר אַשְׁכֲּנַ֥ז וְדִיפַ֖ת וְתוֹגַרְמָֽה׃

7The sons of Javan were Elishah, Tarshishah, Kittim, and Rodanim.

7וּבְנֵ֥י יָוָ֖ן אֱלִישָׁ֣ה וְתַרְשִׁ֑ישָׁה כִּתִּ֖ים וְרוֹדָנִֽים׃ ס

8The sons of Ham were Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.

8בְּנֵ֖י חָ֑ם כּ֥וּשׁ וּמִצְרַ֖יִם פּ֥וּט וּכְנָֽעַן׃

9The sons of Cush were Seba, Havilah, Sabta, Raama, and Sabtecha. The sons of Raama were Sheba and Dedan.

9וּבְנֵ֣י כ֔וּשׁ סְבָא֙ וַחֲוִילָ֔ה וְסַבְתָּ֥א וְרַעְמָ֖א וְסַבְתְּכָ֑א וּבְנֵ֥י רַעְמָ֖א שְׁבָ֥א וּדְדָֽן׃ ס

10Cush begot Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one on the earth.

10וְכ֖וּשׁ יָלַ֣ד אֶת־ נִמְר֑וֹד ה֣וּא הֵחֵ֔ל לִהְי֥וֹת גִּבּ֖וֹר בָּאָֽרֶץ׃ ס

11Mizraim begot Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim,

11וּמִצְרַ֡יִם יָלַ֞ד אֶת־ [לודיים] (לוּדִ֧ים) וְאֶת־ עֲנָמִ֛ים וְאֶת־ לְהָבִ֖ים וְאֶת־ נַפְתֻּחִֽים׃

12Pathrusim, Casluhim (from whom came the Philistines and the Caphtorim).

12וְֽאֶת־ פַּתְרֻסִ֞ים וְאֶת־ כַּסְלֻחִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֨ר יָצְא֥וּ מִשָּׁ֛ם פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים וְאֶת־ כַּפְתֹּרִֽים׃ ס

13Canaan begot Sidon, his firstborn, and Heth;

13וּכְנַ֗עַן יָלַ֛ד אֶת־ צִיד֥וֹן בְּכֹר֖וֹ וְאֶת־ חֵֽת׃

14the Jebusite, the Amorite, and the Girgashite;

14וְאֶת־ הַיְבוּסִי֙ וְאֶת־ הָ֣אֱמֹרִ֔י וְאֵ֖ת הַגִּרְגָּשִֽׁי׃

15the Hivite, the Arkite, and the Sinite;

15וְאֶת־ הַחִוִּ֥י וְאֶת־ הַֽעַרְקִ֖י וְאֶת־ הַסִּינִֽי׃

16the Arvadite, the Zemarite, and the Hamathite.

16וְאֶת־ הָאַרְוָדִ֥י וְאֶת־ הַצְּמָרִ֖י וְאֶת־ הַֽחֲמָתִֽי׃ ס

17The sons of Shem were Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud, Aram, Uz, Hul, Gether, and Meshech.

17בְּנֵ֣י שֵׁ֔ם עֵילָ֣ם וְאַשּׁ֔וּר וְאַרְפַּכְשַׁ֖ד וְל֣וּד וַאֲרָ֑ם וְע֥וּץ וְח֖וּל וְגֶ֥תֶר וָמֶֽשֶׁךְ׃ ס

18Arphaxad begot Shelah, and Shelah begot Eber.

18וְאַרְפַּכְשַׁ֖ד יָלַ֣ד אֶת־ שָׁ֑לַח וְשֶׁ֖לַח יָלַ֥ד אֶת־ עֵֽבֶר׃

19To Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.

19וּלְעֵ֥בֶר יֻלַּ֖ד שְׁנֵ֣י בָנִ֑ים שֵׁ֣ם הָאֶחָ֞ד פֶּ֗לֶג כִּ֤י בְיָמָיו֙ נִפְלְגָ֣ה הָאָ֔רֶץ וְשֵׁ֥ם אָחִ֖יו יָקְטָֽן׃

20Joktan begot Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,

20וְיָקְטָ֣ן יָלַ֔ד אֶת־ אַלְמוֹדָ֖ד וְאֶת־ שָׁ֑לֶף וְאֶת־ חֲצַרְמָ֖וֶת וְאֶת־ יָֽרַח׃

21Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,

21וְאֶת־ הֲדוֹרָ֥ם וְאֶת־ אוּזָ֖ל וְאֶת־ דִּקְלָֽה׃

22Ebal, Abimael, Sheba,

22וְאֶת־ עֵיבָ֥ל וְאֶת־ אֲבִימָאֵ֖ל וְאֶת־ שְׁבָֽא׃

23Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.

23וְאֶת־ אוֹפִ֥יר וְאֶת־ חֲוִילָ֖ה וְאֶת־ יוֹבָ֑ב כָּל־ אֵ֖לֶּה בְּנֵ֥י יָקְטָֽן׃ ס

24Shem, Arphaxad, Shelah,

24שֵׁ֥ם ׀ אַרְפַּכְשַׁ֖ד שָֽׁלַח׃

25Eber, Peleg, Reu,

25עֵ֥בֶר פֶּ֖לֶג רְעֽוּ׃

26Serug, Nahor, Terah,

26שְׂר֥וּג נָח֖וֹר תָּֽרַח׃

27and Abram, who is Abraham.

27אַבְרָ֖ם ה֥וּא אַבְרָהָֽם׃ ס

28The sons of Abraham were Isaac and Ishmael.

28בְּנֵי֙ אַבְרָהָ֔ם יִצְחָ֖ק וְיִשְׁמָעֵֽאל׃ ס

29These are their genealogies: The firstborn of Ishmael was Nebajoth; then Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,

29אֵ֖לֶּה תֹּלְדוֹתָ֑ם בְּכ֤וֹר יִשְׁמָעֵאל֙ נְבָי֔וֹת וְקֵדָ֥ר וְאַדְבְּאֵ֖ל וּמִבְשָֽׂם׃

30Mishma, Dumah, Massa, Hadad, Tema,

30מִשְׁמָ֣ע וְדוּמָ֔ה מַשָּׂ֖א חֲדַ֥ד וְתֵימָֽא׃

31Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. These were the sons of Ishmael.

31יְט֥וּר נָפִ֖ישׁ וָקֵ֑דְמָה אֵ֥לֶּה הֵ֖ם בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׁמָעֵֽאל׃ ס

32Now the sons born to Keturah, Abraham’s concubine, were Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah. The sons of Jokshan were Sheba and Dedan.

32וּבְנֵ֨י קְטוּרָ֜ה פִּילֶ֣גֶשׁ אַבְרָהָ֗ם יָלְדָ֞ה אֶת־ זִמְרָ֧ן וְיָקְשָׁ֛ן וּמְדָ֥ן וּמִדְיָ֖ן וְיִשְׁבָּ֣ק וְשׁ֑וּחַ וּבְנֵ֥י יָקְשָׁ֖ן שְׁבָ֥א וּדְדָֽן׃ ס

33The sons of Midian were Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah.

33וּבְנֵ֣י מִדְיָ֗ן עֵיפָ֤ה וָעֵ֙פֶר֙ וַחֲנ֔וֹךְ וַאֲבִידָ֖ע וְאֶלְדָּעָ֑ה כָּל־ אֵ֖לֶּה בְּנֵ֥י קְטוּרָֽה׃ ס

34And Abraham begot Isaac. The sons of Isaac were Esau and Israel.

34וַיּ֥וֹלֶד אַבְרָהָ֖ם אֶת־ יִצְחָ֑ק ס בְּנֵ֣י יִצְחָ֔ק עֵשָׂ֖ו וְיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ ס

35The sons of Esau were Eliphaz, Reuel, Jeush, Jaalam, and Korah.

35בְּנֵ֖י עֵשָׂ֑ו אֱלִיפַ֛ז רְעוּאֵ֥ל וִיע֖וּשׁ וְיַעְלָ֥ם וְקֹֽרַח׃ ס

36And the sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zephi, Gatam, and Kenaz; and by Timna, Amalek.

36בְּנֵ֖י אֱלִיפָ֑ז תֵּימָ֤ן וְאוֹמָר֙ צְפִ֣י וְגַעְתָּ֔ם קְנַ֖ז וְתִמְנָ֥ע וַעֲמָלֵֽק׃ ס

37The sons of Reuel were Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.

37בְּנֵ֖י רְעוּאֵ֑ל נַ֥חַת זֶ֖רַח שַׁמָּ֥ה וּמִזָּֽה׃ ס

38The sons of Seir were Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan.

38וּבְנֵ֣י שֵׂעִ֔יר לוֹטָ֥ן וְשׁוֹבָ֖ל וְצִבְע֣וֹן וַֽעֲנָ֑ה וְדִישֹׁ֥ן וְאֵ֖צֶר וְדִישָֽׁן׃

39And the sons of Lotan were Hori and Homam; Lotan’s sister was Timna.

39וּבְנֵ֥י לוֹטָ֖ן חֹרִ֣י וְהוֹמָ֑ם וַאֲח֥וֹת לוֹטָ֖ן תִּמְנָֽע׃ ס

40The sons of Shobal were Alian, Manahath, Ebal, Shephi, and Onam. The sons of Zibeon were Ajah and Anah.

40בְּנֵ֣י שׁוֹבָ֔ל עַלְיָ֧ן וּמָנַ֛חַת וְעֵיבָ֖ל שְׁפִ֣י וְאוֹנָ֑ם ס וּבְנֵ֥י צִבְע֖וֹן אַיָּ֥ה וַעֲנָֽה׃

41The son of Anah was Dishon. The sons of Dishon were Hamran, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran.

41בְּנֵ֥י עֲנָ֖ה דִּישׁ֑וֹן ס וּבְנֵ֣י דִישׁ֔וֹן חַמְרָ֥ן וְאֶשְׁבָּ֖ן וְיִתְרָ֥ן וּכְרָֽן׃ ס

42The sons of Ezer were Bilhan, Zaavan, and Jaakan. The sons of Dishan were Uz and Aran.

42בְּֽנֵי־ אֵ֔צֶר בִּלְהָ֥ן וְזַעֲוָ֖ן יַעֲקָ֑ן בְּנֵ֥י דִישׁ֖וֹן ע֥וּץ וַאֲרָֽן׃ פ

43Now these were the kings who reigned in the land of Edom before a king reigned over the children of Israel: Bela the son of Beor, and the name of his city was Dinhabah.

43וְאֵ֣לֶּה הַמְּלָכִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֤ר מָלְכוּ֙ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ אֱד֔וֹם לִפְנֵ֥י מְלָךְ־ מֶ֖לֶךְ לִבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל בֶּ֚לַע בֶּן־ בְּע֔וֹר וְשֵׁ֥ם עִיר֖וֹ דִּנְהָֽבָה׃

44And when Bela died, Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his place.

44וַיָּ֖מָת בָּ֑לַע וַיִּמְלֹ֣ךְ תַּחְתָּ֔יו יוֹבָ֥ב בֶּן־ זֶ֖רַח מִבָּצְרָֽה׃

45When Jobab died, Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his place.

45וַיָּ֖מָת יוֹבָ֑ב וַיִּמְלֹ֣ךְ תַּחְתָּ֔יו חוּשָׁ֖ם מֵאֶ֥רֶץ הַתֵּימָנִֽי׃

46And when Husham died, Hadad the son of Bedad, who attacked Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his place. The name of his city was Avith.

46וַיָּ֖מָת חוּשָׁ֑ם וַיִּמְלֹ֨ךְ תַּחְתָּ֜יו הֲדַ֣ד בֶּן־ בְּדַ֗ד הַמַּכֶּ֤ה אֶת־ מִדְיָן֙ בִּשְׂדֵ֣ה מוֹאָ֔ב וְשֵׁ֥ם עִיר֖וֹ [עיות] (עֲוִֽית׃)

47When Hadad died, Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his place.

47וַיָּ֖מָת הֲדָ֑ד וַיִּמְלֹ֣ךְ תַּחְתָּ֔יו שַׂמְלָ֖ה מִמַּשְׂרֵקָֽה׃

48And when Samlah died, Saul of Rehoboth-by-the-River reigned in his place.

48וַיָּ֖מָת שַׂמְלָ֑ה וַיִּמְלֹ֣ךְ תַּחְתָּ֔יו שָׁא֖וּל מֵרְחֹב֥וֹת הַנָּהָֽר׃

49When Saul died, Baal-Hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his place.

49וַיָּ֖מָת שָׁא֑וּל וַיִּמְלֹ֣ךְ תַּחְתָּ֔יו בַּ֥עַל חָנָ֖ן בֶּן־ עַכְבּֽוֹר׃

50And when Baal-Hanan died, Hadad reigned in his place; and the name of his city was Pai. His wife’s name was Mehetabel the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.

50וַיָּ֙מָת֙ בַּ֣עַל חָנָ֔ן וַיִּמְלֹ֤ךְ תַּחְתָּיו֙ הֲדַ֔ד וְשֵׁ֥ם עִיר֖וֹ פָּ֑עִי וְשֵׁ֨ם אִשְׁתּ֤וֹ מְהֵיטַבְאֵל֙ בַּת־ מַטְרֵ֔ד בַּ֖ת מֵ֥י זָהָֽב׃

51Hadad died also. And the chiefs of Edom were Chief Timnah, Chief Aliah, Chief Jetheth,

51וַיָּ֖מָת הֲדָ֑ד ס וַיִּהְיוּ֙ אַלּוּפֵ֣י אֱד֔וֹם אַלּ֥וּף תִּמְנָ֛ע אַלּ֥וּף [עליה] (עַֽלְוָ֖ה) אַלּ֥וּף יְתֵֽת׃

52Chief Aholibamah, Chief Elah, Chief Pinon,

52אַלּ֧וּף אָהֳלִיבָמָ֛ה אַלּ֥וּף אֵלָ֖ה אַלּ֥וּף פִּינֹֽן׃

53Chief Kenaz, Chief Teman, Chief Mibzar,

53אַלּ֥וּף קְנַ֛ז אַלּ֥וּף תֵּימָ֖ן אַלּ֣וּף מִבְצָֽר׃

54Chief Magdiel, and Chief Iram. These were the chiefs of Edom.

54אַלּ֥וּף מַגְדִּיאֵ֖ל אַלּ֣וּף עִירָ֑ם אֵ֖לֶּה אַלּוּפֵ֥י אֱדֽוֹם׃ פ
