1Send the [tribute] lambs to the ruler of the land, from Sela in the desert to the mount of the Daughter of Zion. 1שִׁלְחוּ־ כַ֥ר מֹשֵֽׁל־ אֶ֖רֶץ מִסֶּ֣לַע מִדְבָּ֑רָה אֶל־ הַ֖ר בַּת־ צִיּֽוֹן׃
2Like fluttering birds pushed out of the nest, so are the daughters of Moab at the fords of the Arnon: 2וְהָיָ֥ה כְעוֹף־ נוֹדֵ֖ד קֵ֣ן מְשֻׁלָּ֑ח תִּֽהְיֶ֙ינָה֙ בְּנ֣וֹת מוֹאָ֔ב מַעְבָּרֹ֖ת לְאַרְנֽוֹן׃
3“Give us counsel, render a decision. Shelter us at noonday with shade as dark as night. Hide the refugees; do not betray the one who flees. 3[הביאו] (הָבִ֤יאִי) עֵצָה֙ עֲשׂ֣וּ פְלִילָ֔ה שִׁ֧יתִי כַלַּ֛יִל צִלֵּ֖ךְ בְּת֣וֹךְ צָהֳרָ֑יִם סַתְּרִי֙ נִדָּחִ֔ים נֹדֵ֖ד אַל־ תְּגַלִּֽי׃
4Let my fugitives stay with you; be a refuge for Moab from the destroyer.” When the oppressor has gone, destruction has ceased, and the oppressors have vanished from the land, 4יָג֤וּרוּ בָךְ֙ נִדָּחַ֔י מוֹאָ֛ב הֱוִי־ סֵ֥תֶר לָ֖מוֹ מִפְּנֵ֣י שׁוֹדֵ֑ד כִּֽי־ אָפֵ֤ס הַמֵּץ֙ כָּ֣לָה שֹׁ֔ד תַּ֥מּוּ רֹמֵ֖ס מִן־ הָאָֽרֶץ׃
5in loving devotion a throne will be established in the tent of David. A judge seeking justice and prompt in righteousness will sit on [it] in faithfulness. 5וְהוּכַ֤ן בַּחֶ֙סֶד֙ כִּסֵּ֔א וְיָשַׁ֥ב עָלָ֛יו בֶּאֱמֶ֖ת בְּאֹ֣הֶל דָּוִ֑ד שֹׁפֵ֛ט וְדֹרֵ֥שׁ מִשְׁפָּ֖ט וּמְהִ֥ר צֶֽדֶק׃
6We have heard of Moab’s pride, his exceeding pride [and] conceit, his overflowing arrogance. But his boasting is empty. 6שָׁמַ֥עְנוּ גְאוֹן־ מוֹאָ֖ב גֵּ֣א מְאֹ֑ד גַּאֲוָת֧וֹ וּגְאוֹנ֛וֹ וְעֶבְרָת֖וֹ לֹא־ כֵ֥ן בַּדָּֽיו׃ ס
7Therefore let Moab wail; let them wail together for Moab. Mourn for the raisin cakes of Kir-hareseth, you who are utterly stricken. 7לָכֵ֗ן יְיֵלִ֥יל מוֹאָ֛ב לְמוֹאָ֖ב כֻּלֹּ֣ה יְיֵלִ֑יל לַאֲשִׁישֵׁ֧י קִיר־ חֲרֶ֛שֶׂת תֶּהְגּ֖וּ אַךְ־ נְכָאִֽים׃
8For the fields of Heshbon have withered, along with the grapevines of Sibmah. The rulers of the nations have trampled its choicest vines that reached as far as Jazer and spread toward the desert. Their shoots spread out and reached the sea. 8כִּ֣י שַׁדְמוֹת֩ חֶשְׁבּ֨וֹן אֻמְלָ֜ל גֶּ֣פֶן שִׂבְמָ֗ה בַּעֲלֵ֤י גוֹיִם֙ הָלְמ֣וּ שְׂרוּקֶּ֔יהָ עַד־ יַעְזֵ֥ר נָגָ֖עוּ תָּ֣עוּ מִדְבָּ֑ר שְׁלֻ֣חוֹתֶ֔יהָ נִטְּשׁ֖וּ עָ֥בְרוּ יָֽם׃
9So I weep with Jazer for the vines of Sibmah; I drench Heshbon and Elealeh with my tears. Triumphant shouts have fallen silent over your summer fruit and your harvest. 9עַל־ כֵּ֡ן אֶבְכֶּ֞ה בִּבְכִ֤י יַעְזֵר֙ גֶּ֣פֶן שִׂבְמָ֔ה אֲרַיָּ֙וֶךְ֙ דִּמְעָתִ֔י חֶשְׁבּ֖וֹן וְאֶלְעָלֵ֑ה כִּ֧י עַל־ קֵיצֵ֛ךְ וְעַל־ קְצִירֵ֖ךְ הֵידָ֥ד נָפָֽל׃
10Joy and gladness are removed from the orchard; no one sings or shouts in the vineyards. No one tramples the grapes in the winepresses; I have put an end to the cheering. 10וְנֶאֱסַ֨ף שִׂמְחָ֤ה וָגִיל֙ מִן־ הַכַּרְמֶ֔ל וּבַכְּרָמִ֥ים לֹֽא־ יְרֻנָּ֖ן לֹ֣א יְרֹעָ֑ע יַ֗יִן בַּיְקָבִ֛ים לֹֽא־ יִדְרֹ֥ךְ הַדֹּרֵ֖ךְ הֵידָ֥ד הִשְׁבַּֽתִּי׃
11Therefore my heart laments for Moab like a harp, my inmost being for Kir-hareseth. 11עַל־ כֵּן֙ מֵעַ֣י לְמוֹאָ֔ב כַּכִּנּ֖וֹר יֶֽהֱמ֑וּ וְקִרְבִּ֖י לְקִ֥יר חָֽרֶשׂ׃
12When Moab appears on the high place, when he wearies himself and enters his sanctuary to pray, it will do him no good. 12וְהָיָ֧ה כִֽי־ נִרְאָ֛ה כִּֽי־ נִלְאָ֥ה מוֹאָ֖ב עַל־ הַבָּמָ֑ה וּבָ֧א אֶל־ מִקְדָּשׁ֛וֹ לְהִתְפַּלֵּ֖ל וְלֹ֥א יוּכָֽל׃
13This is the message that the LORD spoke earlier concerning Moab. 13זֶ֣ה הַדָּבָ֗ר אֲשֶׁ֨ר דִּבֶּ֧ר יְהוָ֛ה אֶל־ מוֹאָ֖ב מֵאָֽז׃
14And now the LORD says, “In three years, as a hired worker counts the years, Moab’s splendor will become an object of contempt, with all her many people. And those who are left will be few [and] feeble.” 14וְעַתָּ֗ה דִּבֶּ֣ר יְהוָה֮ לֵאמֹר֒ בְּשָׁלֹ֤שׁ שָׁנִים֙ כִּשְׁנֵ֣י שָׂכִ֔יר וְנִקְלָה֙ כְּב֣וֹד מוֹאָ֔ב בְּכֹ֖ל הֶהָמ֣וֹן הָרָ֑ב וּשְׁאָ֥ר מְעַ֛ט מִזְעָ֖ר ל֥וֹא כַבִּֽיר׃ ס
