Psalm 41
NKJV Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionNew American Standard Bible 1995
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. Blessed is he who considers the poor; The LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.1For the choir director. A Psalm of David. How blessed is he who considers the helpless; The LORD will deliver him in a day of trouble.
The LORD will preserve him and keep him alive, And he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies.2The LORD will protect him and keep him alive, And he shall be called blessed upon the earth; And do not give him over to the desire of his enemies.
The LORD will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed.3The LORD will sustain him upon his sickbed; In his illness, You restore him to health.
I said, “LORD, be merciful to me; Heal my soul, for I have sinned against You.”4As for me, I said, "O LORD, be gracious to me; Heal my soul, for I have sinned against You."
My enemies speak evil of me: “When will he die, and his name perish?”5My enemies speak evil against me, "When will he die, and his name perish?"
And if he comes to see me, he speaks lies; His heart gathers iniquity to itself; When he goes out, he tells it.6And when he comes to see me, he speaks falsehood; His heart gathers wickedness to itself; When he goes outside, he tells it.
All who hate me whisper together against me; Against me they devise my hurt.7All who hate me whisper together against me; Against me they devise my hurt, saying,
“An evil disease,” they say, “clings to him. And now that he lies down, he will rise up no more.”8"A wicked thing is poured out upon him, That when he lies down, he will not rise up again."
Even my own familiar friend in whom I trusted, Who ate my bread, Has lifted up his heel against me.9Even my close friend in whom I trusted, Who ate my bread, Has lifted up his heel against me.
But You, O LORD, be merciful to me, and raise me up, That I may repay them.10But You, O LORD, be gracious to me and raise me up, That I may repay them.
By this I know that You are well pleased with me, Because my enemy does not triumph over me.11By this I know that You are pleased with me, Because my enemy does not shout in triumph over me.
As for me, You uphold me in my integrity, And set me before Your face forever.12As for me, You uphold me in my integrity, And You set me in Your presence forever.
Blessed be the LORD God of Israel From everlasting to everlasting! Amen and Amen.13Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, From everlasting to everlasting. Amen and Amen.
