| 1Now there were some present on that occasion who told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. | 1At that time, some people who were there told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. |
| 2He answered them, "Do you think these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered these things? | 2He asked them, "Do you think that these Galileans were more sinful than all the other Galileans because they suffered like this? |
| 3No, I tell you! But unless you repent, you will all perish as well! | 3Absolutely not, I tell you! But if you don't repent, then you, too, will all die. |

| 17When he said this all his adversaries were humiliated, but the entire crowd was rejoicing at all the wonderful things he was doing. | 17Even as he was saying this, all of his opponents were blushing with shame. But the rest of the crowd was rejoicing at all the wonderful things he was doing. |

But he will answer you, 'I don't know where you come from.' |
