NASB Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]
New American Standard Bible 1995International Standard Version
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,1Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus the Messiah.
through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God.2Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace by which we have been established, and we boast because of our hope in God's glory.
And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance;3Not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,
and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope;4endurance produces character, and character produces hope.
and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.5Now this hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.6For at just the right time, while we were still powerless, the Messiah died for the ungodly.
For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die.7For it is rare for anyone to die for a righteous person, though somebody might be brave enough to die for a good person.
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.8But God demonstrates his love for us by the fact that the Messiah died for us while we were still sinners.
Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.9Now that we have been justified by his blood, how much more will we be saved from wrath through him!
For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.10For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, will we be saved by his life!
And not only this, but we also exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.11Not only that, but we also continue to boast about God through our Lord Jesus the Messiah, through whom we have now been reconciled.
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned--12Just as sin entered the world through one man, and death resulted from sin, therefore everyone dies, because everyone has sinned.
for until the Law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law.13Certainly sin was in the world before the Law was given, but no record of sin is kept when there is no Law.
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who had not sinned in the likeness of the offense of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.14Nevertheless, death ruled from the time of Adam to Moses, even over those who did not sin in the same way Adam did when he disobeyed. He is a foreshadowing of the one who would come.
But the free gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many.15But God's free gift is not like Adam's offense. For if many people died as the result of one man's offense, how much more have God's grace and the free gift given through the kindness of one man, Jesus the Messiah, been showered on many people!
The gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned; for on the one hand the judgment arose from one transgression resulting in condemnation, but on the other hand the free gift arose from many transgressions resulting in justification.16Nor can the free gift be compared to what came through the man who sinned. For the sentence that followed one man's offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift brought justification, even after many offenses.
For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.17For if, through one man, death ruled because of that man's offense, how much more will those who receive such overflowing grace and the gift of righteousness rule in life because of one man, Jesus the Messiah!
So then as through one transgression there resulted condemnation to all men, even so through one act of righteousness there resulted justification of life to all men.18Consequently, just as one offense resulted in condemnation for everyone, so one act of righteousness results in justification and life for everyone.
For as through the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous.19For just as through one man's disobedience many people were made sinners, so also through one man's obedience many people will be made righteous.
The Law came in so that the transgression would increase; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,20Now the Law crept in so that the offense would increase. But where sin increased, grace increased even more,
so that, as sin reigned in death, even so grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.21so that, just as sin ruled by bringing death, so also grace might rule by bringing justification that results in eternal life through Jesus the Messiah, our Lord.
