| 1Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. | 1Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. |

| 15But the gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man’s trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many. |
| 16And the gift is not like the one man's sin, because from one sin came the judgment, resulting in condemnation, but from many trespasses came the gift, resulting in justification. | 16And the free gift is not like the result of that one man’s sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brought justification. |
| 17Since by the one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive the overflow of grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ. | 17For if, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ. |
| 18So then, as through one trespass there is condemnation for everyone, so also through one righteous act there is justification leading to life for everyone. | 18Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men. |

| 20The law came along to multiply the trespass. But where sin multiplied, grace multiplied even more | 20Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, |
