1And Elihu answered and said: 2Were you considered within justice in this, for you said ‘I am more righteous than God?’ 3If you spoke, what did it avail you for your soul? And what use that I would condemn you? 4I shall return you words, also to your friends with you 5Gaze into Heaven and search in the clouds that are higher than you 6If you sin, what will you do to him, and if your evil increases, what will you do to him? 7And if you have been righteous, what do you profit him, or what does he receive from you? 8Your evil is to your soul, and to your soul is your righteousness 9From the abundance of oppression they speak, and they cry out from much evil 10And they do not say: ‘where is God who made us, who gives ideas in the night? 11More than before the animal of the Earth and more than the bird of the air, he teaches us wisdom 12There they cry out and he does not answer them, because of the pride of the evil 13God does not hear uselessly, neither does God praise such 14Even though you have said: “You shall not praise him; sue before him and beg him” 15Now he does not command his anger and he does no evil to the soul 16And Job uselessly opened his mouth and multiplies words without knowledge The Peshitta Holy Bible Translated Translated by Glenn David Bauscher Glenn David Bauscher Lulu Publishing Copyright © 2018 Lulu Publishing 3rd edition Copyright © 2019 |
