| 1Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself. | 1Brothers and sisters, if a person is discovered in some sin, you who are spiritual restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness. Pay close attention to yourselves, so that you are not tempted too. |
| 2Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ. | 2Carry one another's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. |
| 3If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important. | 3For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. |
| 4Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else. | 4Let each one examine his own work. Then he can take pride in himself and not compare himself with someone else. |

| 9So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. | 9So we must not grow weary in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not give up. |
| 10Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith. Paul’s Final Advice | 10So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who belong to the family of faith. |

| 12Those who are trying to force you to be circumcised want to look good to others. They don’t want to be persecuted for teaching that the cross of Christ alone can save. | 12Those who want to make a good showing in external matters are trying to force you to be circumcised. They do so only to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ. |
| 13And even those who advocate circumcision don’t keep the whole law themselves. They only want you to be circumcised so they can boast about it and claim you as their disciples. | 13For those who are circumcised do not obey the law themselves, but they want you to be circumcised so that they can boast about your flesh. |
| 14As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of that cross, my interest in this world has been crucified, and the world’s interest in me has also died. | 14But may I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. |
| 15It doesn’t matter whether we have been circumcised or not. What counts is whether we have been transformed into a new creation. | 15For neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything; the only thing that matters is a new creation! |
| 16May God’s peace and mercy be upon all who live by this principle; they are the new people of God. | 16And all who will behave in accordance with this rule, peace and mercy be on them, and on the Israel of God. |
| 17From now on, don’t let anyone trouble me with these things. For I bear on my body the scars that show I belong to Jesus. | 17From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear the marks of Jesus on my body. |
| 18Dear brothers and sisters, may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen. | 18The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers and sisters. Amen. |
