Galatians 6
NLT Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]
New Living TranslationInternational Standard Version
Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself.1Brothers, if a person is caught doing something wrong, those of you who are spiritual should restore that person gently. Watch out for yourself so that you are not tempted as well.
Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.2Practice carrying each other's burdens. In this way you will fulfill the law of the Messiah.
If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important.3For if anyone thinks he is something when he is really nothing, he is only fooling himself.
Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else.4Each person must examine his own actions, and then he can boast about his own accomplishments and not about someone else.
For we are each responsible for our own conduct.5For everyone must carry his own load.
Those who are taught the word of God should provide for their teachers, sharing all good things with them.6The person who is taught the word should share all his goods with his teacher.
Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.7Stop being deceived; God is not to be ridiculed. A person harvests whatever he plants:
Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.8The person who sows through human means will harvest decay from human means, but the person who sows in the Spirit will harvest eternal life from the Spirit.
So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.9Let's not get tired of doing what is good, for at the right time we will reap a harvest—if we do not give up.
Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith. Paul’s Final Advice10So then, whenever we have the opportunity, let's practice doing good to everyone, especially to the family of faith.
Notice what large letters I use as I write these closing words in my own handwriting.11Look at how large these letters are because I am writing with my own hand!
Those who are trying to force you to be circumcised want to look good to others. They don’t want to be persecuted for teaching that the cross of Christ alone can save.12These people who want to impress others by their external appearance are trying to force you to be circumcised, simply to avoid being persecuted for the cross of the Messiah.
And even those who advocate circumcision don’t keep the whole law themselves. They only want you to be circumcised so they can boast about it and claim you as their disciples.13Why, not even those who are circumcised obey the Law! They simply want you to be circumcised so that they can boast about your external appearance.
As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of that cross, my interest in this world has been crucified, and the world’s interest in me has also died.14But may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world!
It doesn’t matter whether we have been circumcised or not. What counts is whether we have been transformed into a new creation.15For neither circumcision nor uncircumcision matters. Rather, what matters is being a new creation.
May God’s peace and mercy be upon all who live by this principle; they are the new people of God.16Now may peace be on all those who live by this principle, and may mercy be on the Israel of God.
From now on, don’t let anyone trouble me with these things. For I bear on my body the scars that show I belong to Jesus.17Let no one make any more trouble for me, because I carry the scars of Jesus on my own body.
Dear brothers and sisters, may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.18May the grace of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah, be with your spirit, brothers! Amen.
