Rise up, O God, and scatter your enemies. Let those who hate God run for their lives.1God arises, and his enemies are scattered. Those who hate him flee from his presence.
Blow them away like smoke. Melt them like wax in a fire. Let the wicked perish in the presence of God.2As smoke is driven away, so you drive them away. As wax melts in the presence of fire, so the wicked die in the presence of God.
But let the godly rejoice. Let them be glad in God’s presence. Let them be filled with joy.3But the righteous rejoice and exult before God; they are overwhelmed with joy.
Sing praises to God and to his name! Sing loud praises to him who rides the clouds. His name is the LORD— rejoice in his presence!4Sing to God! Sing praise to his name! Exalt the one who rides on the clouds. The LORD is his name. Be jubilant in his presence.

God places the lonely in families; he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy. But he makes the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.6God causes the lonely to dwell in families. He leads prisoners into prosperity, but rebels live on parched land.

the earth trembled, and the heavens poured down rain before you, the God of Sinai, before God, the God of Israel.8the land quaked. Indeed, the heavens poured down rain from the presence of God, this God of Sinai, from the presence of God, the God of Israel.
You sent abundant rain, O God, to refresh the weary land.9God, you poured out abundant rain on your inheritance. When Israel was weary, you sustained her.
There your people finally settled, and with a bountiful harvest, O God, you provided for your needy people.10Your people live there; you sustain the needy with your goodness, God.
The Lord gives the word, and a great army brings the good news.11The Lord issues a command. Numerous are the women who announce the news:
Enemy kings and their armies flee, while the women of Israel divide the plunder.12"Kings of armies retreat and flee, while the lady of the house divides the spoil.
Even those who lived among the sheepfolds found treasures— doves with wings of silver and feathers of gold.13When you men lie down among the sheepfolds, you are like the wings of the dove covered with silver, with its feathers in glittering gold."
The Almighty scattered the enemy kings like a blowing snowstorm on Mount Zalmon.14When the Almighty scattered the kings there, there was snow on Mt. Zalmon.
The mountains of Bashan are majestic, with many peaks stretching high into the sky.15The mountain of God is as the mountain of Bashan; a mountain of many peaks is Mount Bashan.
Why do you look with envy, O rugged mountains, at Mount Zion, where God has chosen to live, where the LORD himself will live forever?16You mountains of many peaks, why do you watch with envy the mountain in which God has chosen to dwell? Indeed, the LORD will live there forever.
Surrounded by unnumbered thousands of chariots, the Lord came from Mount Sinai into his sanctuary.17God's chariots were many thousands. The Lord was there with them at Sinai in holiness.
When you ascended to the heights, you led a crowd of captives. You received gifts from the people, even from those who rebelled against you. Now the LORD God will live among us there.18You ascended to the heights, you took captives. You received gifts among mankind, even the rebellious, so the LORD God may live there.
Praise the Lord; praise God our savior! For each day he carries us in his arms. Interlude19Blessed be the Lord who daily carries us. God is our deliverer.
Our God is a God who saves! The Sovereign LORD rescues us from death.20God is for us the God of our deliverance. The Lord GOD rescues us from death.
But God will smash the heads of his enemies, crushing the skulls of those who love their guilty ways.21God surely strikes the heads of his enemies, even the hairy heads of those who continue in their guilt.
The Lord says, “I will bring my enemies down from Bashan; I will bring them up from the depths of the sea.22The Lord says, "From Bashan I will bring them, I will bring them from the depths of the sea,
You, my people, will wash your feet in their blood, and even your dogs will get their share!”23that your feet may wade through blood. The tongues of your dogs will have their portions from your enemies."

Summon your might, O God. Display your power, O God, as you have in the past.28Summon the power of your God, the power, God, that you have shown us.
The kings of the earth are bringing tribute to your Temple in Jerusalem.29Because of your Temple in Jerusalem, kings bring tribute to you.
Rebuke these enemy nations— these wild animals lurking in the reeds, this herd of bulls among the weaker calves. Make them bring bars of silver in humble tribute. Scatter the nations that delight in war.30Rebuke the wildlife that lives among the reeds, the nations that congregate like bulls and cows, humbling themselves with pieces of silver, for God scatters the nations that delight in battle.
