| 2His judgments are true and just. He has punished the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her immorality. He has avenged the blood of His servants that was poured out by her hand.” |
| 3And again their voices rang out: “Praise the LORD! The smoke from that city ascends forever and ever!” | 3And a second time they called out: “Hallelujah! Her smoke rises forever and ever.” |
| 4Then the twenty-four elders and the four living beings fell down and worshiped God, who was sitting on the throne. They cried out, “Amen! | 7Let us be glad and rejoice, and let us give honor to him. For the time has come for the wedding feast of the Lamb, and his bride has prepared herself. | 7Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him the glory. For the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready. |
| 8She has been given the finest of pure white linen to wear.” For the fine linen represents the good deeds of God’s holy people. | 8She was given clothing of fine linen, bright and pure.” For the fine linen she wears is the righteous acts of the saints. |
| 9And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding feast of the Lamb.” And he added, “These are true words that come from God.” | 9Then the angel told me to write, “Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.” |
| 10Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said, “No, don’t worship me. I am a servant of God, just like you and your brothers and sisters who testify about their faith in Jesus. Worship only God. For the essence of prophecy is to give a clear witness for Jesus. ” The Rider on the White Horse | 10So I fell at his feet to worship him. But he told me, “Do not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers who rely on the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” |
| 11Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. Its rider was named Faithful and True, for he judges fairly and wages a righteous war. | 11Then I saw heaven standing open, and there before me was a white horse. | 12His eyes were like flames of fire, and on his head were many crowns. A name was written on him that no one understood except himself. | 12He has eyes like blazing fire, and many royal crowns on His head. He has a name written on Him that only He Himself knows. |
| 13He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his title was the Word of God. | 13He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and His name is The Word of God. |
| 14The armies of heaven, dressed in the finest of pure white linen, followed him on white horses. | 14The armies of heaven, dressed in fine linen, white and pure, follow Him on white horses. |
| 15From his mouth came a sharp sword to strike down the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will release the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty, like juice flowing from a winepress. | 15And from His mouth proceeds a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and He will rule them with an iron scepter. He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. |

| 17Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, shouting to the vultures flying high in the sky: “Come! | 18Come and eat the flesh of kings, generals, and strong warriors; of horses and their riders; and of all humanity, both free and slave, small and great.” | 18so that you may eat the flesh of kings and commanders and mighty men, of horses and riders, of everyone slave and free, small and great.” |
| 19Then I saw the beast and the kings of the world and their armies gathered together to fight against the one sitting on the horse and his army. | 19Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies assembled to wage war against the One seated on the horse, and against His army. |
| 20And the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who did mighty miracles on behalf of the beast—miracles that deceived all who had accepted the mark of the beast and who worshiped his statue.
