New King James Version | NET Bible |
After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God! | 1After these things I heard what sounded like the loud voice of a vast throng in heaven, saying, "Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God, |
For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.” | 2because his judgments are true and just. For he has judged the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her sexual immorality, and has avenged the blood of his servants poured out by her own hands!" |
Again they said, “Alleluia! Her smoke rises up forever and ever!” | 3Then a second time the crowd shouted, "Hallelujah!" The smoke rises from her forever and ever. |
And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sat on the throne, saying, “Amen! Alleluia!” | 4The twenty-four elders and the four living creatures threw themselves to the ground and worshiped God, who was seated on the throne, saying: "Amen! Hallelujah!" |
Then a voice came from the throne, saying, “Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!” | 5Then a voice came from the throne, saying: "Praise our God all you his servants, and all you who fear Him, both the small and the great!" |
And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! | 6Then I heard what sounded like the voice of a vast throng, like the roar of many waters and like loud crashes of thunder. They were shouting: "Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the All-Powerful, reigns! |
Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” | 7Let us rejoice and exult and give him glory, because the wedding celebration of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. |
And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. | 8She was permitted to be dressed in bright, clean, fine linen" (for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints). |
Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.” | 9Then the angel said to me, "Write the following: Blessed are those who are invited to the banquet at the wedding celebration of the Lamb!" He also said to me, "These are the true words of God." |
And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” | 10So I threw myself down at his feet to worship him, but he said, "Do not do this! I am only a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony about Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony about Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." |
Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. | 11Then I saw heaven opened and here came a white horse! The one riding it was called "Faithful" and "True," and with justice he judges and goes to war. |
His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. | 12His eyes are like a fiery flame and there are many diadem crowns on his head. He has a name written that no one knows except himself. |
He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. | 13He is dressed in clothing dipped in blood, and he is called the Word of God. |
And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. | 14The armies that are in heaven, dressed in white, clean, fine linen, were following him on white horses. |
Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. | 15From his mouth extends a sharp sword, so that with it he can strike the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod, and he stomps the winepress of the furious wrath of God, the All-Powerful. |
And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. | 16He has a name written on his clothing and on his thigh: "King of kings and Lord of lords." |
Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, “Come and gather together for the supper of the great God, | 17Then I saw one angel standing in the sun, and he shouted in a loud voice to all the birds flying high in the sky: "Come, gather around for the great banquet of God, |
that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small and great.” | 18to eat your fill of the flesh of kings, the flesh of generals, the flesh of powerful people, the flesh of horses and those who ride them, and the flesh of all people, both free and slave, and small and great!" |
And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. | 19Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies assembled to do battle with the one who rode the horse and with his army. |
Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. | 20Now the beast was seized, and along with him the false prophet who had performed the signs on his behalf--signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. Both of them were thrown alive into the lake of fire burning with sulfur. |
And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh. | 21The others were killed by the sword that extended from the mouth of the one who rode the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves with their flesh. |
