“Speak to Aaron and his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel, and that they do not profane My holy name by what they dedicate to Me: I am the LORD. | 2"Tell Aaron and his sons that they must deal respectfully with the holy offerings of the Israelites, which they consecrate to me, so that they do not profane my holy name. I am the LORD. |
Say to them: ‘Whoever of all your descendants throughout your generations, who goes near the holy things which the children of Israel dedicate to the LORD, while he has uncleanness upon him, that person shall be cut off from My presence: I am the LORD. | 3Say to them, 'Throughout your generations, if any man from all your descendants approaches the holy offerings which the Israelites consecrate to the LORD while he is impure, that person must be cut off from before me. I am the LORD. |
‘Whatever man of the descendants of Aaron, who is a leper or has a discharge, shall not eat the holy offerings until he is clean. And whoever touches anything made unclean by a corpse, or a man who has had an emission of semen, | 4No man from the descendants of Aaron who is diseased or has a discharge may eat the holy offerings until he becomes clean. The one who touches anything made unclean by contact with a dead person, or a man who has a seminal emission, |
or whoever touches any creeping thing by which he would be made unclean, or any person by whom he would become unclean, whatever his uncleanness may be— | 5or a man who touches a swarming thing by which he becomes unclean, or touches a person by which he becomes unclean, whatever that person's impurity-- |

‘No outsider shall eat the holy offering; one who dwells with the priest, or a hired servant, shall not eat the holy thing. | 10"'No lay person may eat anything holy. Neither a priest's lodger nor a hired laborer may eat anything holy, |
But if the priest buys a person with his money, he may eat it; and one who is born in his house may eat his food. | 11but if a priest buys a person with his own money, that person may eat the holy offerings, and those born in the priest's own house may eat his food. |

‘And if a man eats the holy offering unintentionally, then he shall restore a holy offering to the priest, and add one-fifth to it. | 14"'If a man eats a holy offering by mistake, he must add one fifth to it and give the holy offering to the priest. |
They shall not profane the holy offerings of the children of Israel, which they offer to the LORD, | 15They must not profane the holy offerings which the Israelites contribute to the LORD, |
or allow them to bear the guilt of trespass when they eat their holy offerings; for I the LORD sanctify them.’ ” | 16and so cause them to incur a penalty for guilt when they eat their holy offerings, for I am the LORD who sanctifies them.'" |

you shall offer of your own free will a male without blemish from the cattle, from the sheep, or from the goats. | 19if it is to be acceptable for your benefit it must be a flawless male from the cattle, sheep, or goats. |
Whatever has a defect, you shall not offer, for it shall not be acceptable on your behalf. | 20You must not present anything that has a flaw, because it will not be acceptable for your benefit. |

You must not give any of these as a gift on the altar to the LORD. |
Either a bull or a lamb that has any limb too long or too short you may offer as a freewill offering, but for a vow it shall not be accepted. | 23As for an ox or a sheep with a limb too long or stunted, you may present it as a freewill offering, but it will not be acceptable for a votive offering. |

Nor from a foreigner’s hand shall you offer any of these as the bread of your God, because their corruption is in them, and defects are in them. They shall not be accepted on your behalf.’ ” | 25Even from a foreigner you must not present the food of your God from such animals as these, for they are ruined and flawed; they will not be acceptable for your benefit.'" |

Whether it is a cow or ewe, do not kill both her and her young on the same day. | 28You must not slaughter an ox or a sheep and its young on the same day. |

You shall not profane My holy name, but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel. I am the LORD who sanctifies you, | 32You must not profane my holy name, and I will be sanctified in the midst of the Israelites. I am the LORD who sanctifies you, |
who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the LORD.” | 33the one who brought you out from the land of Egypt to be your God. I am the LORD." |
