Colossians 3
KJV Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]
King James BibleNew American Standard Bible 1995
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.1Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.2Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.
For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.3For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.4When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.
Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:5Therefore consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry.
For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:6For it is because of these things that the wrath of God will come upon the sons of disobedience,
In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.7and in them you also once walked, when you were living in them.
But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.8But now you also, put them all aside: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth.
Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;9Do not lie to one another, since you laid aside the old self with its evil practices,
And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:10and have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him--
Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.11a renewal in which there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave and freeman, but Christ is all, and in all.
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;12So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience;
Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.13bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.
And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.14Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.15Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.16Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.17Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.18Wives, be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.19Husbands, love your wives and do not be embittered against them.
Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.20Children, be obedient to your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing to the Lord.
Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.21Fathers, do not exasperate your children, so that they will not lose heart.
Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:22Slaves, in all things obey those who are your masters on earth, not with external service, as those who merely please men, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord.
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;23Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men,
Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.24knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.
But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.25For he who does wrong will receive the consequences of the wrong which he has done, and that without partiality.
