7Aaron is to offer fragrant incense on it. Every morning when he trims the lamps he is to offer it, | 7Aaron is to burn sweet incense on it morning by morning; when he attends to the lamps he is to burn incense. |
8and when Aaron sets up the lamps at twilight, he is to offer it as a continual incense offering in the LORD's presence throughout your generations. | 8When Aaron sets up the lamps around sundown he is to burn incense on it; it is to be a regular incense offering before the LORD throughout your generations. |

11The LORD told Moses, | 11The LORD spoke to Moses: |
12"When you take a census of the Israelis to register them, each is to give a ransom for himself to the LORD when they're registered so there won't be a plague among them when they're registered. | 12"When you take a census of the Israelites according to their number, then each man is to pay a ransom for his life to the LORD when you number them, so that there will be no plague among them when you number them. |
13This is what everyone who is registered is to give: half a shekel according to the shekel of the sanctuary (the shekel weighs 20 gerahs), half a shekel as a contribution to the LORD. | 13Everyone who crosses over to those who are numbered is to pay this: a half shekel according to the shekel of the sanctuary (a shekel weighs twenty gerahs). The half shekel is to be an offering to the LORD. |
14All who are registered, 20 years of age and older, are to give a contribution to the LORD. | 14Everyone who crosses over to those numbered, from twenty years old and up, is to pay an offering to the LORD. |
15The rich person is not to give more, nor is the poor person to give less than the half shekel, when you give a contribution to the LORD to make atonement for yourselves. | 15The rich are not to increase it, and the poor are not to pay less than the half shekel when giving the offering of the LORD, to make atonement for your lives. |
16You are to take the atonement money from the Israelis and give it for the service of the Tent of Meeting, and it is to be a memorial for the Israelis in the LORD's presence to make atonement for yourselves." | 16You are to receive the atonement money from the Israelites and give it for the service of the tent of meeting. It will be a memorial for the Israelites before the LORD, to make atonement for your lives." |

18"You are to make a bronze basin with a bronze base for washing. You are to pace it between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, put water in it, | 18"You are also to make a large bronze basin with a bronze stand for washing. You are to put it between the tent of meeting and the altar and put water in it, |
19and Aaron and his sons are to wash their hands and their feet from it. | 19and Aaron and his sons must wash their hands and their feet from it. |
20When they enter the Tent of Meeting or when they approach the altar to minister to make an offering by fire to the LORD, they are to wash with water so they don't die. | 20When they enter the tent of meeting, they must wash with water so that they do not die. Also, when they approach the altar to minister by burning incense as an offering made by fire to the LORD, |
21They are to wash their hands and their feet so that they don't die, and it is to be for them a perpetual ordinance for Aaron and his seed from generation to generation." | 21they must wash their hands and their feet so that they do not die. And this will be a perpetual ordinance for them and for their descendants throughout their generations." |

23"You are to take for yourself the finest spices: 500 shekels by weight of liquid myrrh, half as much fragrant cinnamon (250 shekels), 250 shekels of fragrant reeds, | 23"Take choice spices: twelve and a half pounds of free-flowing myrrh, half that--about six and a quarter pounds--of sweet-smelling cinnamon, six and a quarter pounds of sweet-smelling cane, |
24500 shekels of cassia—all according to the shekel of the sanctuary—and a hin of olive oil. | 24and twelve and a half pounds of cassia, all weighed according to the sanctuary shekel, and four quarts of olive oil. |
25You are to make them into a holy anointing oil, a perfume mixture made by a perfumer. It is to be a holy anointing oil. | 25You are to make this into a sacred anointing oil, a perfumed compound, the work of a perfumer. It will be sacred anointing oil. |
26You are to use it to anoint the Tent of Meeting, the Ark of the Testimony, | 26"With it you are to anoint the tent of meeting, the ark of the testimony, |
27the table and all its utensils, the lamp stand and its utensils, the altar of incense, | 27the table and all its utensils, the lampstand and its utensils, the altar of incense, |
28the altar for burnt offerings and all its utensils, and the basin and its base. | 28the altar for the burnt offering and all its utensils, and the laver and its base. |
29You are to consecrate them and they are to be most holy. Whatever touches them is to be holy. | 29So you are to sanctify them, and they will be most holy; anything that touches them will be holy. |
30You are to anoint Aaron and his sons, and you are to consecrate them to serve as my priests. | 30"You are to anoint Aaron and his sons and sanctify them, so that they may minister as my priests. |
31You are to address the Israelis and tell them, 'This is to be holy anointing oil for me from generation to generation. | 31And you are to tell the Israelites: 'This is to be my sacred anointing oil throughout your generations. |
32It is not to be poured out on a person's body, nor are you to make anything like it with similar formulations. It is holy, and it is to be holy to you. | 32It must not be applied to people's bodies, and you must not make any like it with the same recipe. It is holy, and it must be holy to you. |
33Anyone who mixes anything like it or who puts any of it on an unqualified person is to be cut off from his people.'" | 33Whoever makes perfume like it and whoever puts any of it on someone not a priest will be cut off from his people.'" |
34The LORD told Moses, "Take for yourself spices: stacte, onycha, galbanum, and spices with pure frankincense, all in equal amounts. | 34The LORD said to Moses: "Take spices, gum resin, onycha, galbanum, and pure frankincense of equal amounts |
35You are to make it into a fragrant incense, expertly blended, pure, and holy. | 35and make it into an incense, a perfume, the work of a perfumer. It is to be finely ground, and pure and sacred. |
36You are to grind some of it fine, and put some before the Testimony in the Tent of Meeting where I will meet with you. It is to be most holy to you. | 36You are to beat some of it very fine and put some of it before the ark of the testimony in the tent of meeting where I will meet with you; it is to be most holy to you. |
37You are not to make the incense that you make in this formulation for your own use. It is to be holy to the LORD for you. | 37And the incense that you are to make, you must not make for yourselves using the same recipe; it is to be most holy to you, belonging to the LORD. |
38Anyone who makes anything like it to use it as perfume is to be cut off from his people." | 38Whoever makes anything like it, to use as perfume, will be cut off from his people." |
