| 10Now the son of an Israelite mother and an Egyptian father was among the Israelites. | 11Her son cursed and blasphemed the Name, and they brought him to Moses. | 12They put him in custody until the LORD's decision could be made clear to them. | 12So they placed him in custody until they were able to make a clear legal decision for themselves based on words from the mouth of the LORD. |

| 14Bring the one who has cursed to the outside of the camp and have all who heard him lay their hands on his head; then have the whole community stone him. | 14"Bring the one who cursed outside the camp, and all who heard him are to lay their hands on his head, and the whole congregation is to stone him to death. |
| 15And tell the Israelites: If anyone curses his God, he will bear the consequences of his sin. | 15Moreover, you are to tell the Israelites, 'If any man curses his God he will bear responsibility for his sin, |
| 16Whoever blasphemes the name of Yahweh is to be put to death; the whole community must stone him. If he blasphemes the Name, he is to be put to death, whether the foreign resident or the native." | 16and one who misuses the name of the LORD must surely be put to death. The whole congregation must surely stone him, whether he is a foreigner or a native citizen; when he misuses the Name he must be put to death. |

| 23After Moses spoke to the Israelites, they brought the one who had cursed to the outside of the camp and stoned him. So the Israelites did as the LORD had commanded Moses. | 23Then Moses spoke to the Israelites and they brought the one who cursed outside the camp and stoned him with stones. So the Israelites did just as the LORD had commanded Moses. |
