| 1So if you have been raised with the Messiah, seek what is above, where the Messiah is, seated at the right hand of God. | 1Therefore, if you have been raised with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. |
| 2Set your minds on what is above, not on what is on the earth. | 2Keep thinking about things above, not things on the earth, |

| 5Therefore, put to death what belongs to your worldly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desire, and greed, which is idolatry. | 5So put to death whatever in your nature belongs to the earth: sexual immorality, impurity, shameful passion, evil desire, and greed which is idolatry. |
| 6Because of these, God's wrath comes on the disobedient, | 6Because of these things the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience. |

| 13accepting one another and forgiving one another if anyone has a complaint against another. | 14Above all, put on love--the perfect bond of unity. | 14And to all these virtues add love, which is the perfect bond. |
| 15And let the peace of the Messiah, to which you were also called in one body, control your hearts. Be thankful. | 15Let the peace of Christ be in control in your heart (for you were in fact called as one body to this peace), and be thankful. |
| 16Let the message about the Messiah dwell richly among you, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, and singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, with gratitude in your hearts to God. | 16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and exhorting one another with all wisdom, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, all with grace in your hearts to God. |

| 24knowing that you will receive the reward of an inheritance from the Lord. You serve the Lord Christ. | 24because you know that you will receive your inheritance from the Lord as the reward. Serve the Lord Christ. |
| 25For the wrongdoer will be paid back for whatever wrong he has done, and there is no favoritism. | 25For the one who does wrong will be repaid for his wrong, and there are no exceptions. |
