| 21You are not to eat any carcass; you may give it to the foreigner residing within your gates, and he may eat it, or you may sell it to a foreigner. | 24But if the distance is too great for you to carry that with which the LORD your God has blessed you, because the place where the LORD your God will choose to put His Name is too far away, | 24But if that place is too distant and you have been blessed by the LORD your God and cannot carry your tithe (because the place where the LORD will choose to put his Name is so far away), |
| 25then exchange it for money, take the money in your hand, and go to the place the LORD your God will choose. | 25then exchange your tithe for silver, and take the silver with you and go to the place the LORD your God will choose. |
| 26Then you may spend the money on anything you desire: cattle, sheep, wine, strong drink, or anything you wish. You are to feast there in the presence of the LORD your God and rejoice with your household. | 26Use the silver to buy whatever you like: cattle, sheep, wine or other fermented drink, or anything you wish. Then you and your household shall eat there in the presence of the LORD your God and rejoice. |
| 27And do not neglect the Levite within your gates, since he has no portion or inheritance among you. | 27And do not neglect the Levites living in your towns, for they have no allotment or inheritance of their own. |
| 28At the end of every three years, bring a tenth of all your produce for that year and lay it up within your gates. | 28At the end of every three years, bring all the tithes of that year's produce and store it in your towns, |
| 29Then the Levite (because he has no portion or inheritance among you), the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow within your gates may come and eat and be satisfied. And the LORD your God will bless you in all the work of your hands. | 29so that the Levites (who have no allotment or inheritance of their own) and the foreigners, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns may come and eat and be satisfied, and so that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands. |
