| 1And David sang this song to the LORD on the day the LORD had delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. | 1David sang to the LORD the words of this song when the LORD rescued him from the power of all his enemies, including Saul. |

| 27to the pure You show Yourself pure, but to the crooked You show Yourself shrewd. | 27You prove to be reliable to one who is blameless, but you prove to be deceptive to one who is perverse. |
| 28You save an afflicted people, but Your eyes are on the haughty to bring them down. | 28You deliver oppressed people, but you watch the proud and bring them down. |
| 29For You, O LORD, are my lamp; the LORD lights up my darkness. | 29Indeed, you are my lamp, LORD. The LORD illumines the darkness around me. |
