Faith Brings Peace and Joy

(John 14:27-31)

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
1Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,1Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.1Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,1Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:1Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
2through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.2Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.2through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God.2By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.2We have also obtained access through Him by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.
3Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;3Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,3And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance;3And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;3And not only that, but we also rejoice in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance,
4perseverance, character; and character, hope.4and endurance produces character, and character produces hope,4and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope;4And patience, experience; and experience, hope:4endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope.
5And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.5and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.5and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.5And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.5This hope will not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Christ's Sacrifice for the Ungodly

(Genesis 22:1-10; John 3:16-21)

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
6You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.6For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.6For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.6For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.6For while we were still helpless, at the appointed moment, Christ died for the ungodly.
7Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die.7For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die—7For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die.7For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.7For rarely will someone die for a just person--though for a good person perhaps someone might even dare to die.
8But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.8but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.8But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.8But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.8But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us!
9Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him!9Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.9Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.9Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.9Much more then, since we have now been declared righteous by His blood, we will be saved through Him from wrath.
NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
10For if, while we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!10For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.10For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.10For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.10For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, then how much more, having been reconciled, will we be saved by His life!
11Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.11More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.11And not only this, but we also exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.11And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.11And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We have now received this reconciliation through Him.

Death in Adam, Life in Christ

(Genesis 3:1-7; Genesis 7:1-5; 2 Peter 3:1-9)

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
12Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned--12Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned—12Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned--12Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:12Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, in this way death spread to all men, because all sinned.
13To be sure, sin was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not charged against anyone's account where there is no law.13for sin indeed was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not counted where there is no law.13for until the Law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law.13(For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.13In fact, sin was in the world before the law, but sin is not charged to a person's account when there is no law.
14Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who is a pattern of the one to come.14Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sinning was not like the transgression of Adam, who was a type of the one who was to come.14Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who had not sinned in the likeness of the offense of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.14Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.14Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who did not sin in the likeness of Adam's transgression. He is a prototype of the Coming One.
15But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God's grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many!15But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man’s trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many.15But the free gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many.15But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.15But the gift is not like the trespass. For if by the one man's trespass the many died, how much more have the grace of God and the gift overflowed to the many by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ.
NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
16Nor can the gift of God be compared with the result of one man's sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification.16And the free gift is not like the result of that one man’s sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brought justification.16The gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned; for on the one hand the judgment arose from one transgression resulting in condemnation, but on the other hand the free gift arose from many transgressions resulting in justification.16And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.16And the gift is not like the one man's sin, because from one sin came the judgment, resulting in condemnation, but from many trespasses came the gift, resulting in justification.
17For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!17For if, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.17For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.17For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)17Since by the one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive the overflow of grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ.
18Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people.18Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men.18So then as through one transgression there resulted condemnation to all men, even so through one act of righteousness there resulted justification of life to all men.18Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.18So then, as through one trespass there is condemnation for everyone, so also through one righteous act there is life-giving justification for everyone.
19For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.19For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous.19For as through the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous.19For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.19For just as through one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so also through the one man's obedience the many will be made righteous.
20The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more,20Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,20The Law came in so that the transgression would increase; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,20Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:20The law came along to multiply the trespass. But where sin multiplied, grace multiplied even more
21so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.21so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.21so that, as sin reigned in death, even so grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.21That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.21so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace will reign through righteousness, resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
