New Living Translation | New American Standard Bible 1995 |
O LORD, hear me as I pray; pay attention to my groaning. | 1For the choir director; for flute accompaniment. A Psalm of David. Give ear to my words, O LORD, Consider my groaning. |
Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for I pray to no one but you. | 2Heed the sound of my cry for help, my King and my God, For to You I pray. |
Listen to my voice in the morning, LORD. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly. | 3In the morning, O LORD, You will hear my voice; In the morning I will order my prayer to You and eagerly watch. |
O God, you take no pleasure in wickedness; you cannot tolerate the sins of the wicked. | 4For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness; No evil dwells with You. |
Therefore, the proud may not stand in your presence, for you hate all who do evil. | 5The boastful shall not stand before Your eyes; You hate all who do iniquity. |
You will destroy those who tell lies. The LORD detests murderers and deceivers. | 6You destroy those who speak falsehood; The LORD abhors the man of bloodshed and deceit. |
Because of your unfailing love, I can enter your house; I will worship at your Temple with deepest awe. | 7But as for me, by Your abundant lovingkindness I will enter Your house, At Your holy temple I will bow in reverence for You. |
Lead me in the right path, O LORD, or my enemies will conquer me. Make your way plain for me to follow. | 8O LORD, lead me in Your righteousness because of my foes; Make Your way straight before me. |
My enemies cannot speak a truthful word. Their deepest desire is to destroy others. Their talk is foul, like the stench from an open grave. Their tongues are filled with flattery. | 9There is nothing reliable in what they say; Their inward part is destruction itself. Their throat is an open grave; They flatter with their tongue. |
O God, declare them guilty. Let them be caught in their own traps. Drive them away because of their many sins, for they have rebelled against you. | 10Hold them guilty, O God; By their own devices let them fall! In the multitude of their transgressions thrust them out, For they are rebellious against You. |
But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever. Spread your protection over them, that all who love your name may be filled with joy. | 11But let all who take refuge in You be glad, Let them ever sing for joy; And may You shelter them, That those who love Your name may exult in You. |
For you bless the godly, O LORD; you surround them with your shield of love. | 12For it is You who blesses the righteous man, O LORD, You surround him with favor as with a shield. |
