Psalm 34
NLT Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationNew American Standard Bible 1995
I will praise the LORD at all times. I will constantly speak his praises.1A Psalm of David when he feigned madness before Abimelech, who drove him away and he departed. I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
I will boast only in the LORD; let all who are helpless take heart.2My soul will make its boast in the LORD; The humble will hear it and rejoice.
Come, let us tell of the LORD’s greatness; let us exalt his name together.3O magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together.
I prayed to the LORD, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears.4I sought the LORD, and He answered me, And delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces.5They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces will never be ashamed.
In my desperation I prayed, and the LORD listened; he saved me from all my troubles.6This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him And saved him out of all his troubles.
For the angel of the LORD is a guard; he surrounds and defends all who fear him.7The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him, And rescues them.
Taste and see that the LORD is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!8O taste and see that the LORD is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!
Fear the LORD, you his godly people, for those who fear him will have all they need.9O fear the LORD, you His saints; For to those who fear Him there is no want.
Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the LORD will lack no good thing.10The young lions do lack and suffer hunger; But they who seek the LORD shall not be in want of any good thing.
Come, my children, and listen to me, and I will teach you to fear the LORD.11Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
Does anyone want to live a life that is long and prosperous?12Who is the man who desires life And loves length of days that he may see good?
Then keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies!13Keep your tongue from evil And your lips from speaking deceit.
Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it.14Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.
The eyes of the LORD watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help.15The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous And His ears are open to their cry.
But the LORD turns his face against those who do evil; he will erase their memory from the earth.16The face of the LORD is against evildoers, To cut off the memory of them from the earth.
The LORD hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles.17The righteous cry, and the LORD hears And delivers them out of all their troubles.
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.18The LORD is near to the brokenhearted And saves those who are crushed in spirit.
The righteous person faces many troubles, but the LORD comes to the rescue each time.19Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all.
For the LORD protects the bones of the righteous; not one of them is broken!20He keeps all his bones, Not one of them is broken.
Calamity will surely destroy the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be punished.21Evil shall slay the wicked, And those who hate the righteous will be condemned.
But the LORD will redeem those who serve him. No one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.22The LORD redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who take refuge in Him will be condemned.
