1One day Jesus said to his disciples, “There will always be temptations to sin, but what sorrow awaits the person who does the tempting!1Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!
2 It would be better to be thrown into the sea with a millstone hung around your neck than to cause one of these little ones to fall into sin.2It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.
3 So watch yourselves! “If another believer sins, rebuke that person; then if there is repentance, forgive.3Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
4 Even if that person wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks forgiveness, you must forgive.”4And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.
5The apostles said to the Lord, “Show us how to increase our faith.”5And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.
6The Lord answered, “If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘May you be uprooted and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you!6And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
7 “When a servant comes in from plowing or taking care of sheep, does his master say, ‘Come in and eat with me’?7But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat?
8 No, he says, ‘Prepare my meal, put on your apron, and serve me while I eat. Then you can eat later.’8And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?
9 And does the master thank the servant for doing what he was told to do? Of course not.9Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not.
10 In the same way, when you obey me you should say, ‘We are unworthy servants who have simply done our duty.’” Ten Healed of Leprosy10So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.
11As Jesus continued on toward Jerusalem, he reached the border between Galilee and Samaria.11And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
12As he entered a village there, ten men with leprosy stood at a distance,12And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:
13crying out, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”13And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
14He looked at them and said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed of their leprosy.14And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.
15One of them, when he saw that he was healed, came back to Jesus, shouting, “Praise God!”15And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
16He fell to the ground at Jesus’ feet, thanking him for what he had done. This man was a Samaritan.16And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
17Jesus asked, “Didn’t I heal ten men? Where are the other nine?17And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
18 Has no one returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?”18There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
19And Jesus said to the man, “Stand up and go. Your faith has healed you. ” The Coming of the Kingdom19And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.
20One day the Pharisees asked Jesus, “When will the Kingdom of God come?” Jesus replied, “The Kingdom of God can’t be detected by visible signs.20And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
21 You won’t be able to say, ‘Here it is!’ or ‘It’s over there!’ For the Kingdom of God is already among you. ”21Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
22Then he said to his disciples, “The time is coming when you will long to see the day when the Son of Man returns, but you won’t see it.22And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it.
23 People will tell you, ‘Look, there is the Son of Man,’ or ‘Here he is,’ but don’t go out and follow them.23And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them.
24 For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other, so it will be on the day when the Son of Man comes.24For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day.
25 But first the Son of Man must suffer terribly and be rejected by this generation.25But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.
26 “When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day.26And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27 In those days, the people enjoyed banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat and the flood came and destroyed them all.27They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
28 “And the world will be as it was in the days of Lot. People went about their daily business—eating and drinking, buying and selling, farming and building—28Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 until the morning Lot left Sodom. Then fire and burning sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.29But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Yes, it will be ‘business as usual’ right up to the day when the Son of Man is revealed.30Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
31 On that day a person out on the deck of a roof must not go down into the house to pack. A person out in the field must not return home.31In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.
32 Remember what happened to Lot’s wife!32Remember Lot's wife.
33 If you cling to your life, you will lose it, and if you let your life go, you will save it.33Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.
34 That night two people will be asleep in one bed; one will be taken, the other left.34I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
35 Two women will be grinding flour together at the mill; one will be taken, the other left. ”35Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
3636Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
37“Where will this happen, Lord?” the disciples asked. Jesus replied, “Just as the gathering of vultures shows there is a carcass nearby, so these signs indicate that the end is near.”37And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.
