New Living Translation | English Standard Version |
Shout joyful praises to God, all the earth! | 1Shout for joy to God, all the earth; |
Sing about the glory of his name! Tell the world how glorious he is. | 2sing the glory of his name; give to him glorious praise! |
Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds! Your enemies cringe before your mighty power. | 3Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies come cringing to you. |
Everything on earth will worship you; they will sing your praises, shouting your name in glorious songs.” Interlude | 4All the earth worships you and sings praises to you; they sing praises to your name.” Selah |
Come and see what our God has done, what awesome miracles he performs for people! | 5Come and see what God has done: he is awesome in his deeds toward the children of man. |
He made a dry path through the Red Sea, and his people went across on foot. There we rejoiced in him. | 6He turned the sea into dry land; they passed through the river on foot. There did we rejoice in him, |
For by his great power he rules forever. He watches every movement of the nations; let no rebel rise in defiance. Interlude | 7who rules by his might forever, whose eyes keep watch on the nations— let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah |
Let the whole world bless our God and loudly sing his praises. | 8Bless our God, O peoples; let the sound of his praise be heard, |
Our lives are in his hands, and he keeps our feet from stumbling. | 9who has kept our soul among the living and has not let our feet slip. |
You have tested us, O God; you have purified us like silver. | 10For you, O God, have tested us; you have tried us as silver is tried. |
You captured us in your net and laid the burden of slavery on our backs. | 11You brought us into the net; you laid a crushing burden on our backs; |
Then you put a leader over us. We went through fire and flood, but you brought us to a place of great abundance. | 12you let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water; yet you have brought us out to a place of abundance. |
Now I come to your Temple with burnt offerings to fulfill the vows I made to you— | 13I will come into your house with burnt offerings; I will perform my vows to you, |
yes, the sacred vows that I made when I was in deep trouble. | 14that which my lips uttered and my mouth promised when I was in trouble. |
That is why I am sacrificing burnt offerings to you— the best of my rams as a pleasing aroma, and a sacrifice of bulls and male goats. Interlude | 15I will offer to you burnt offerings of fattened animals, with the smoke of the sacrifice of rams; I will make an offering of bulls and goats. Selah |
Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what he did for me. | 16Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for my soul. |
For I cried out to him for help, praising him as I spoke. | 17I cried to him with my mouth, and high praise was on my tongue. |
If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. | 18If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. |
But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer. | 19But truly God has listened; he has attended to the voice of my prayer. |
Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer or withdraw his unfailing love from me. | 20Blessed be God, because he has not rejected my prayer or removed his steadfast love from me! |
