New Living Translation | Berean Study Bible |
Shout joyful praises to God, all the earth! | 1For the choirmaster. A song. A Psalm. Make a joyful noise to God, all the earth! |
Sing about the glory of his name! Tell the world how glorious he is. | 2Sing the glory of His name; make His praise glorious. |
Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds! Your enemies cringe before your mighty power. | 3Say to God, “How awesome are Your deeds! So great is Your power that Your enemies cower before You. |
Everything on earth will worship you; they will sing your praises, shouting your name in glorious songs.” Interlude | 4All the earth bows down to You; they sing praise to You; they sing praise to Your name.” Selah |
Come and see what our God has done, what awesome miracles he performs for people! | 5Come and see the works of God; how awesome are His deeds toward mankind. |
He made a dry path through the Red Sea, and his people went across on foot. There we rejoiced in him. | 6He turned the sea into dry land; they passed through the waters on foot; there we rejoiced in Him. |
For by his great power he rules forever. He watches every movement of the nations; let no rebel rise in defiance. Interlude | 7He rules forever by His power; His eyes watch the nations. Do not let the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah |
Let the whole world bless our God and loudly sing his praises. | 8Bless our God, O peoples; let the sound of His praise be heard. |
Our lives are in his hands, and he keeps our feet from stumbling. | 9He preserves our lives and keeps our feet from slipping. |
You have tested us, O God; you have purified us like silver. | 10For You, O God, have tested us; You have refined us like silver. |
You captured us in your net and laid the burden of slavery on our backs. | 11You led us into the net; You laid burdens on our backs. |
Then you put a leader over us. We went through fire and flood, but you brought us to a place of great abundance. | 12You let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but You brought us into abundance. |
Now I come to your Temple with burnt offerings to fulfill the vows I made to you— | 13I will enter Your house with burnt offerings; I will fulfill my vows to You— |
yes, the sacred vows that I made when I was in deep trouble. | 14the vows that my lips promised and my mouth spoke in my distress. |
That is why I am sacrificing burnt offerings to you— the best of my rams as a pleasing aroma, and a sacrifice of bulls and male goats. Interlude | 15I will offer You fatlings as burnt offerings, with the fragrant smoke of rams; I will offer bulls and goats. Selah |
Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what he did for me. | 16Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will declare what He has done for me. |
For I cried out to him for help, praising him as I spoke. | 17I cried out to Him with my mouth and praised Him with my tongue. |
If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. | 18If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. |
But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer. | 19But God has surely heard; He has attended to the sound of my prayer. |
Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer or withdraw his unfailing love from me. | 20Blessed be God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld from me His loving devotion! |
