Then He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come!1Jesus said to his disciples, "Stumbling blocks are sure to come, but woe to the one through whom they come!
It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.2It would be better for him to have a millstone tied around his neck and be thrown into the sea than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin.
Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.3Watch yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him. If he repents, forgive him.
And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.”4Even if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times returns to you saying, 'I repent,' you must forgive him."
And the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.”5The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith!"
So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.6So the Lord replied, "If you had faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this black mulberry tree, 'Be pulled out by the roots and planted in the sea,' and it would obey you.
And which of you, having a servant plowing or tending sheep, will say to him when he has come in from the field, ‘Come at once and sit down to eat’?7"Would any one of you say to your slave who comes in from the field after plowing or shepherding sheep, 'Come at once and sit down for a meal'?
But will he not rather say to him, ‘Prepare something for my supper, and gird yourself and serve me till I have eaten and drunk, and afterward you will eat and drink’?8Won't the master instead say to him, 'Get my dinner ready, and make yourself ready to serve me while I eat and drink. Then you may eat and drink'?
Does he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I think not.9He won't thank the slave because he did what he was told, will he?
So likewise you, when you have done all those things which you are commanded, say, ‘We are unprofitable servants. We have done what was our duty to do.’ ”10So you too, when you have done everything you were commanded to do, should say, 'We are slaves undeserving of special praise; we have only done what was our duty.'"
Now it happened as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.11Now on the way to Jerusalem, Jesus was passing along between Samaria and Galilee.
Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off.12As he was entering a village, ten men with leprosy met him. They stood at a distance,
And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”13raised their voices and said, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us."
So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed.14When he saw them he said, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." And as they went along, they were cleansed.
And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God,15Then one of them, when he saw he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice.
and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan.16He fell with his face to the ground at Jesus' feet and thanked him. (Now he was a Samaritan.)
So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine?17Then Jesus said, "Were not ten cleansed? Where are the other nine?
Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?”18Was no one found to turn back and give praise to God except this foreigner?"
And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”19Then he said to the man, "Get up and go your way. Your faith has made you well."
Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation;20Now at one point the Pharisees asked Jesus when the kingdom of God was coming, so he answered, "The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed,
nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”21nor will they say, 'Look, here it is!' or 'There!' For indeed, the kingdom of God is in your midst."
Then He said to the disciples, “The days will come when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it.22Then he said to the disciples, "The days are coming when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it.
And they will say to you, ‘Look here!’ or ‘Look there!’ Do not go after them or follow them.23Then people will say to you, 'Look, there he is!' or 'Look, here he is!' Do not go out or chase after them.
For as the lightning that flashes out of one part under heaven shines to the other part under heaven, so also the Son of Man will be in His day.24For just like the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of Man be in his day.
But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.25But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.
And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man:26Just as it was in the days of Noah, so too it will be in the days of the Son of Man.
They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.27People were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage--right up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.
Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built;28Likewise, just as it was in the days of Lot, people were eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, building;
but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.29but on the day Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.
Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.30It will be the same on the day the Son of Man is revealed.
“In that day, he who is on the housetop, and his goods are in the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise the one who is in the field, let him not turn back.31On that day, anyone who is on the roof, with his goods in the house, must not come down to take them away, and likewise the person in the field must not turn back.
Remember Lot’s wife.32Remember Lot's wife!
Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.33Whoever tries to keep his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will preserve it.
I tell you, in that night there will be two men in one bed: the one will be taken and the other will be left.34I tell you, in that night there will be two people in one bed; one will be taken and the other left.
Two women will be grinding together: the one will be taken and the other left.35There will be two women grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left."
Two men will be in the field: the one will be taken and the other left.”36
And they answered and said to Him, “Where, Lord?” So He said to them, “Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together.”37Then the disciples said to him, "Where, Lord?" He replied to them, "Where the dead body is, there the vultures will gather."
