| 1Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. | 1Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. |
| 2For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it. | 2For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. |
| 3For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said: “So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest,’ ” although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. | 3For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. |
| 4For He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”; | 4For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. |
| 5and again in this place: “They shall not enter My rest.” | 5And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. |
| 6Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience, | 6Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: |
| 7again He designates a certain day, saying in David, “Today,” after such a long time, as it has been said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts.” | 7Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. |
| 8For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day. | 8For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. |
| 9There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. | 9There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. |
| 10For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. | 10For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. |
| 11Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience. | 11Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. |

| 15For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. | 15For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. |
