Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given orders to the churches of Galatia, so you must do also:1Now concerning the collection for the saints, you should follow the directions I gave to the churches in Galatia.
On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper, that there be no collections when I come.2After the Sabbath ends, each of you should set aside and save something from your surplus in proportion to what you have, so that no collections will have to be made when I arrive.
And when I come, whomever you approve by your letters I will send to bear your gift to Jerusalem.3When I arrive, I will send letters along with the men you approve to take your gift to Jerusalem.
But if it is fitting that I go also, they will go with me.4If it is worthwhile for me to go, too, they can go with me.
Now I will come to you when I pass through Macedonia (for I am passing through Macedonia).5I will visit you when I go through Macedonia—for I intend to go through Macedonia—
And it may be that I will remain, or even spend the winter with you, that you may send me on my journey, wherever I go.6and will probably stay with you for a while or even spend the winter with you. Then you can send me on my way, wherever I decide to go.
For I do not wish to see you now on the way; but I hope to stay a while with you, if the Lord permits.7I do not want to visit with you now just in passing, because I hope to spend a longer time with you if the Lord permits.
But I will tarry in Ephesus until Pentecost.8However, I'll stay on in Ephesus until Pentecost,
For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.9because a door has opened wide for me to do effective work, although many people are opposing me.
And if Timothy comes, see that he may be with you without fear; for he does the work of the Lord, as I also do.10If Timothy comes, see to it that he does not have anything to be afraid of while he is with you, for he is doing the Lord's work as I am.
Therefore let no one despise him. But send him on his journey in peace, that he may come to me; for I am waiting for him with the brethren.11Therefore, no one should treat him with contempt. Send him on his way in peace so that he may come to me, because I am expecting him along with the brothers.
Now concerning our brother Apollos, I strongly urged him to come to you with the brethren, but he was quite unwilling to come at this time; however, he will come when he has a convenient time.12Now concerning our brother Apollos, I strongly urged him to visit you with the other brothers, but he was not inclined to do so just now. However, he will visit you when the time is right.
Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.13Remain alert. Keep standing firm in your faith. Keep on being courageous and strong.
Let all that you do be done with love.14Everything you do should be done lovingly.
I urge you, brethren—you know the household of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have devoted themselves to the ministry of the saints—15Now I urge you, brothers—for you know that the members of the family of Stephanas were the first converts in Achaia, and that they have devoted themselves to serving the saints—
that you also submit to such, and to everyone who works and labors with us.16to submit yourselves to people like these and to anyone else who shares their labor and hard work.
I am glad about the coming of Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus, for what was lacking on your part they supplied.17I am glad that Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus came here, because what was lacking they have supplied through you.
For they refreshed my spirit and yours. Therefore acknowledge such men.18They refreshed my spirit—and yours, too. Therefore, appreciate men like that.
The churches of Asia greet you. Aquila and Priscilla greet you heartily in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.19The churches in Asia greet you. Aquila and Prisca and the church in their house greet you warmly in union with the Lord.
All the brethren greet you. Greet one another with a holy kiss.20All the brothers greet you. Greet one another with a holy kiss.
The salutation with my own hand—Paul’s.21I, Paul, am writing this greeting with my own hand.
If anyone does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be accursed. O Lord, come!22If anyone doesn't love the Lord, let him be condemned! May our Lord come!
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.23May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with you!
My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.24May my love remain with all of you in union with the Messiah Jesus.
