New International Version | NET Bible |
Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. | 1Brothers and sisters, if a person is discovered in some sin, you who are spiritual restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness. Pay close attention to yourselves, so that you are not tempted too. |
Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. | 2Carry one another's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. |
If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. | 3For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. |
Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, | 4Let each one examine his own work. Then he can take pride in himself and not compare himself with someone else. |
for each one should carry their own load. | 5For each one will carry his own load. |
Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word should share all good things with their instructor. | 6Now the one who receives instruction in the word must share all good things with the one who teaches it. |
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. | 7Do not be deceived. God will not be made a fool. For a person will reap what he sows, |
Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. | 8because the person who sows to his own flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit. |
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. | 9So we must not grow weary in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not give up. |
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. | 10So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who belong to the family of faith. |
See what large letters I use as I write to you with my own hand! | 11See what big letters I make as I write to you with my own hand! |
Those who want to impress people by means of the flesh are trying to compel you to be circumcised. The only reason they do this is to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ. | 12Those who want to make a good showing in external matters are trying to force you to be circumcised. They do so only to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ. |
Not even those who are circumcised keep the law, yet they want you to be circumcised that they may boast about your circumcision in the flesh. | 13For those who are circumcised do not obey the law themselves, but they want you to be circumcised so that they can boast about your flesh. |
May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. | 14But may I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. |
Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; what counts is the new creation. | 15For neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything; the only thing that matters is a new creation! |
Peace and mercy to all who follow this rule--to the Israel of God. | 16And all who will behave in accordance with this rule, peace and mercy be on them, and on the Israel of God. |
From now on, let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus. | 17From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear the marks of Jesus on my body. |
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers and sisters. Amen. | 18The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers and sisters. Amen. |
