New International Version | King James Bible |
Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. | 1Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. |
Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. | 2Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. |
If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. | 3For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. |
Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, | 4But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. |
for each one should carry their own load. | 5For every man shall bear his own burden. |
Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word should share all good things with their instructor. | 6Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. |
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. | 7Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. |
Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. | 8For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. |
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. | 9And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. |
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. | 10As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. |
See what large letters I use as I write to you with my own hand! | 11Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand. |
Those who want to impress people by means of the flesh are trying to compel you to be circumcised. The only reason they do this is to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ. | 12As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ. |
Not even those who are circumcised keep the law, yet they want you to be circumcised that they may boast about your circumcision in the flesh. | 13For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh. |
May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. | 14But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. |
Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; what counts is the new creation. | 15For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. |
Peace and mercy to all who follow this rule--to the Israel of God. | 16And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God. |
From now on, let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus. | 17From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus. |
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers and sisters. Amen. | 18Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen. |
