NET Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleInternational Standard Version
The LORD abhors dishonest scales, but an accurate weight is his delight. 1The LORD hates false scales, but he delights in accurate weights.
When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. 2When pride appears, disgrace accompanies it, but humility is present with wisdom.
The integrity of the upright guides them, but the crookedness of the unfaithful destroys them. 3The integrity of the righteous guides them, but the hypocrisy of the treacherous destroys them.
Wealth does not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from mortal danger. 4Wealth won't help in the time of judgment, but righteousness will deliver from death.
The righteousness of the blameless will make straight their way, but the wicked person will fall by his own wickedness. 5The righteousness of the innocent creates a level path, but the wicked fall by their wickedness.
The righteousness of the upright will deliver them, but the faithless will be captured by their own desires. 6The righteousness of the upright delivers them, but the treacherous are trapped by their evil desires.
When a wicked person dies, his expectation perishes, and the hope of his strength perishes. 7When a wicked person dies, his hope vanishes; and what he expected from his scheming comes to nothing.
The righteous person is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked turns up in his stead. 8The righteous person is delivered from trouble; it comes upon the wicked instead.
With his speech the godless person destroys his neighbor, but by knowledge the righteous will be delivered. 9By what he says, the godless person can destroy his neighbor, but through knowledge the righteous escape.
When the righteous do well, the city rejoices; when the wicked perish, there is joy. 10The city rejoices when the righteous prosper, and when the wicked perish there is jubilation.
A city is exalted by the blessing provided from the upright, but it is destroyed by the counsel of the wicked. 11Through the blessing of the righteous a city is built up, but what the wicked say tears it down.
The one who denounces his neighbor lacks wisdom, but the one who has discernment keeps silent. 12Whoever belittles his neighbor lacks sense, but the discerning man controls his comments.
The one who goes about slandering others reveals secrets, but the one who is trustworthy conceals a matter. 13Whoever spreads gossip betrays secrets, but the trustworthy person keeps a confidence.
When there is no guidance a nation falls, but there is success in the abundance of counselors. 14A nation falls through a lack of guidance, but victory comes through the counsel of many.
The one who puts up security for a stranger will surely have trouble, but whoever avoids shaking hands will be secure. 15Securing a loan for a stranger will bring suffering, but by refusing to do so, one remains safe.
A generous woman gains honor, and ruthless men seize wealth. 16A gracious woman attains honor, but ruthless men attain wealth.
A kind person benefits himself, but a cruel person brings himself trouble. 17A gracious man benefits himself, but the cruel person damages himself.
The wicked person earns deceitful wages, but the one who sows righteousness reaps a genuine reward. 18Evil people earn deceptive wages, but those who plant righteousness are truly rewarded.
True righteousness leads to life, but the one who pursues evil pursues it to his own death. 19Genuine righteousness leads to life, but whoever pursues evil will die.
The LORD abhors those who are perverse in heart, but those who are blameless in their ways are his delight. 20Devious minds are abhorrent to the LORD, but those whose ways are innocent are his delight.
Be assured that the evil person will certainly be punished, but the descendants of the righteous will not suffer unjust judgment. 21Be sure of this: the wicked will not go unpunished, but the descendants of the righteous will go free.
Like a gold ring in a pig's snout is a beautiful woman who rejects discretion. 22Like a gold ring in a pig's snout is a beautiful woman without discretion.
What the righteous desire leads only to good, but what the wicked hope for leads to wrath. 23The desire of the righteous is to seek good, but the hope of the wicked results in wrath.
One person is generous and yet grows more wealthy, but another withholds more than he should and comes to poverty. 24Those who give freely gain even more; others hold back what they owe, becoming even poorer.
A generous person will be enriched, and the one who provides water for others will himself be satisfied. 25A generous person will prosper, and anyone who gives water will receive a flood in return.
People will curse the one who withholds grain, but they will praise the one who sells it. 26People will curse whoever withholds grain, but blessing will come to whoever is selling.
The one who diligently seeks good seeks favor, but the one who searches for evil--it will come to him. 27The person seeking good will find favor, but anyone who searches for evil—it will find him!
The one who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like a green leaf. 28The person who trusts in his wealth will fall, but the righteous will flourish like green leaves.
The one who troubles his family will inherit nothing, and the fool will be a servant to the wise person. 29Whoever troubles his household will inherit the wind, and the fool will be a servant to the wise.
The fruit of the righteous is like a tree producing life, and the one who wins souls is wise. 30The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and the one who wins people is wise.
If the righteous are recompensed on earth, how much more the wicked sinner! 31If the righteous receive what they are due here on earth, how much more will the wicked and the sinner.
