| 1For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not be subject again to the yoke of slavery. | 1The Messiah has set us free so that we may enjoy the benefits of freedom. So keep on standing firm in it, and stop putting yourselves under the yoke of slavery again. |
| 2Listen! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no benefit to you at all! | 2Listen! I, Paul, am telling you that if you allow yourselves to be circumcised, the Messiah will be of no benefit to you. |
