Psalm 107
NET Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleEnglish Standard Version
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, and his loyal love endures! 1Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!
Let those delivered by the LORD speak out, those whom he delivered from the power of the enemy, 2Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble
and gathered from foreign lands, from east and west, from north and south. 3and gathered in from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.
They wandered through the wilderness on a desert road; they found no city in which to live. 4Some wandered in desert wastes, finding no way to a city to dwell in;
They were hungry and thirsty; they fainted from exhaustion. 5hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted within them.
They cried out to the LORD in their distress; he delivered them from their troubles. 6Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.
He led them on a level road, that they might find a city in which to live. 7He led them by a straight way till they reached a city to dwell in.
Let them give thanks to the LORD for his loyal love, and for the amazing things he has done for people! 8Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man!
For he has satisfied those who thirst, and those who hunger he has filled with food. 9For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things.
They sat in utter darkness, bound in painful iron chains, 10Some sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, prisoners in affliction and in irons,
because they had rebelled against God's commands, and rejected the instructions of the sovereign king. 11for they had rebelled against the words of God, and spurned the counsel of the Most High.
So he used suffering to humble them; they stumbled and no one helped them up. 12So he bowed their hearts down with hard labor; they fell down, with none to help.
They cried out to the LORD in their distress; he delivered them from their troubles. 13Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.
He brought them out of the utter darkness, and tore off their shackles. 14He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and burst their bonds apart.
Let them give thanks to the LORD for his loyal love, and for the amazing things he has done for people! 15Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man!
For he shattered the bronze gates, and hacked through the iron bars. 16For he shatters the doors of bronze and cuts in two the bars of iron.
They acted like fools in their rebellious ways, and suffered because of their sins. 17Some were fools through their sinful ways, and because of their iniquities suffered affliction;
They lost their appetite for all food, and they drew near the gates of death. 18they loathed any kind of food, and they drew near to the gates of death.
They cried out to the LORD in their distress; he delivered them from their troubles. 19Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.
He sent them an assuring word and healed them; he rescued them from the pits where they were trapped. 20He sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction.
Let them give thanks to the LORD for his loyal love, and for the amazing things he has done for people! 21Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man!
Let them present thank offerings, and loudly proclaim what he has done! 22And let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, and tell of his deeds in songs of joy!
Some traveled on the sea in ships, and carried cargo over the vast waters. 23Some went down to the sea in ships, doing business on the great waters;
They witnessed the acts of the LORD, his amazing feats on the deep water. 24they saw the deeds of the LORD, his wondrous works in the deep.
He gave the order for a windstorm, and it stirred up the waves of the sea. 25For he commanded and raised the stormy wind, which lifted up the waves of the sea.
They reached up to the sky, then dropped into the depths. The sailors' strength left them because the danger was so great. 26They mounted up to heaven; they went down to the depths; their courage melted away in their evil plight;
They swayed and staggered like a drunk, and all their skill proved ineffective. 27they reeled and staggered like drunken men and were at their wits’ end.
They cried out to the LORD in their distress; he delivered them from their troubles. 28Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.
He calmed the storm, and the waves grew silent. 29He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed.
The sailors rejoiced because the waves grew quiet, and he led them to the harbor they desired. 30Then they were glad that the waters were quiet, and he brought them to their desired haven.
Let them give thanks to the LORD for his loyal love, and for the amazing things he has done for people! 31Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man!
Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people! Let them praise him in the place where the leaders preside! 32Let them extol him in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.
He turned streams into a desert, springs of water into arid land, 33He turns rivers into a desert, springs of water into thirsty ground,
and a fruitful land into a barren place, because of the sin of its inhabitants. 34a fruitful land into a salty waste, because of the evil of its inhabitants.
As for his people, he turned a desert into a pool of water, and a dry land into springs of water. 35He turns a desert into pools of water, a parched land into springs of water.
He allowed the hungry to settle there, and they established a city in which to live. 36And there he lets the hungry dwell, and they establish a city to live in;
They cultivated fields, and planted vineyards, which yielded a harvest of fruit. 37they sow fields and plant vineyards and get a fruitful yield.
He blessed them so that they became very numerous. He would not allow their cattle to decrease in number. 38By his blessing they multiply greatly, and he does not let their livestock diminish.
As for their enemies, they decreased in number and were beaten down, because of painful distress and suffering. 39When they are diminished and brought low through oppression, evil, and sorrow,
He would pour contempt upon princes, and he made them wander in a wasteland with no road. 40he pours contempt on princes and makes them wander in trackless wastes;
Yet he protected the needy from oppression, and cared for his families like a flock of sheep. 41but he raises up the needy out of affliction and makes their families like flocks.
When the godly see this, they rejoice, and every sinner shuts his mouth. 42The upright see it and are glad, and all wickedness shuts its mouth.
Whoever is wise, let him take note of these things! Let them consider the LORD's acts of loyal love! 43Whoever is wise, let him attend to these things; let them consider the steadfast love of the LORD.
