1Then Jesus entered the synagogue again, and a man was there who had a withered hand. | 1Once again Jesus entered the synagogue, and a man with a withered hand was there. |
2They watched Jesus closely to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they could accuse him. | 2In order to accuse Jesus, they were watching to see if He would heal on the Sabbath. |
3So he said to the man who had the withered hand, "Stand up among all these people." | 3Then Jesus said to the man with the withered hand, “Stand up among us.” |
4Then he said to them, "Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath, or evil, to save a life or destroy it?" But they were silent. | 4And He asked them, “Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy it?” But they were silent. |
5After looking around at them in anger, grieved by the hardness of their hearts, he said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." He stretched it out, and his hand was restored. | 5Jesus looked around at them with anger and sorrow at their hardness of heart. Then He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out, and it was restored. |
6So the Pharisees went out immediately and began plotting with the Herodians, as to how they could assassinate him. | 6At this, the Pharisees went out and began plotting with the Herodians how they might kill Jesus. |
7Then Jesus went away with his disciples to the sea, and a great multitude from Galilee followed him. And from Judea, | 7So Jesus withdrew with His disciples to the sea, accompanied by a large crowd from Galilee, Judea, |

9Because of the crowd, he told his disciples to have a small boat ready for him so the crowd would not press toward him. | 9Jesus asked His disciples to have a boat ready for Him so that the crowd would not crush Him. |
10For he had healed many, so that all who were afflicted with diseases pressed toward him in order to touch him. | 10For He had healed so many that all who had diseases were pressing forward to touch Him. |
11And whenever the unclean spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, "You are the Son of God." | 11And when the unclean spirits saw Him, they fell down before Him and cried out, “You are the Son of God!” |

23So he called them and spoke to them in parables: "How can Satan cast out Satan? | 23So Jesus called them together and began to speak to them in parables: “How can Satan drive out Satan? |
24If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom will not be able to stand. | 24If a kingdom is divided against itself, it cannot stand. |

27But no one is able to enter a strong man's house and steal his property unless he first ties up the strong man. 28I tell you the truth, people will be forgiven for all sins, even all the blasphemies they utter. | 28Truly I tell you, the sons of men will be forgiven all sins and blasphemies, as many as they utter. |
29But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, but is guilty of an eternal sin" | 29But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of eternal sin.” |
30(because they said, "He has an unclean spirit"). | 30Jesus made this statement because they were saying, “He has an unclean spirit.” |
31Then Jesus' mother and his brothers came. Standing outside, they sent word to him, to summon him. | 31Then Jesus’ mother and brothers came and stood outside. They sent someone in to summon Him, |
32A crowd was sitting around him and they said to him, "Look, your mother and your brothers are outside looking for you." | 32and a crowd was sitting around Him. “Look,” He was told, “Your mother and brothers are outside, asking for You.” |
33He answered them and said, "Who are my mother and my brothers?" | 33But Jesus replied, “Who are My mother and My brothers?” |
34And looking at those who were sitting around him in a circle, he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers! | 34Looking at those seated in a circle around Him, He said, “Here are My mother and My brothers! |
35For whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother." | 35For whoever does the will of God is My brother and sister and mother.” |
