Psalm 5
NASB Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995New International Version
For the choir director; for flute accompaniment. A Psalm of David. Give ear to my words, O LORD, Consider my groaning.1For the director of music. For pipes. A psalm of David. Listen to my words, LORD, consider my lament.
Heed the sound of my cry for help, my King and my God, For to You I pray.2Hear my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray.
In the morning, O LORD, You will hear my voice; In the morning I will order my prayer to You and eagerly watch.3In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.
For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness; No evil dwells with You.4For you are not a God who is pleased with wickedness; with you, evil people are not welcome.
The boastful shall not stand before Your eyes; You hate all who do iniquity.5The arrogant cannot stand in your presence. You hate all who do wrong;
You destroy those who speak falsehood; The LORD abhors the man of bloodshed and deceit.6you destroy those who tell lies. The bloodthirsty and deceitful you, LORD, detest.
But as for me, by Your abundant lovingkindness I will enter Your house, At Your holy temple I will bow in reverence for You.7But I, by your great love, can come into your house; in reverence I bow down toward your holy temple.
O LORD, lead me in Your righteousness because of my foes; Make Your way straight before me.8Lead me, LORD, in your righteousness because of my enemies-- make your way straight before me.
There is nothing reliable in what they say; Their inward part is destruction itself. Their throat is an open grave; They flatter with their tongue.9Not a word from their mouth can be trusted; their heart is filled with malice. Their throat is an open grave; with their tongues they tell lies.
Hold them guilty, O God; By their own devices let them fall! In the multitude of their transgressions thrust them out, For they are rebellious against You.10Declare them guilty, O God! Let their intrigues be their downfall. Banish them for their many sins, for they have rebelled against you.
But let all who take refuge in You be glad, Let them ever sing for joy; And may You shelter them, That those who love Your name may exult in You.11But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.
For it is You who blesses the righteous man, O LORD, You surround him with favor as with a shield.12Surely, LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.
