King James Bible | NET Bible |
Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. | 1Brothers and sisters, if a person is discovered in some sin, you who are spiritual restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness. Pay close attention to yourselves, so that you are not tempted too. |
Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. | 2Carry one another's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. |
For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. | 3For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. |
But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. | 4Let each one examine his own work. Then he can take pride in himself and not compare himself with someone else. |
For every man shall bear his own burden. | 5For each one will carry his own load. |
Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. | 6Now the one who receives instruction in the word must share all good things with the one who teaches it. |
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. | 7Do not be deceived. God will not be made a fool. For a person will reap what he sows, |
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. | 8because the person who sows to his own flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit. |
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. | 9So we must not grow weary in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not give up. |
As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. | 10So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who belong to the family of faith. |
Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand. | 11See what big letters I make as I write to you with my own hand! |
As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ. | 12Those who want to make a good showing in external matters are trying to force you to be circumcised. They do so only to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ. |
For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh. | 13For those who are circumcised do not obey the law themselves, but they want you to be circumcised so that they can boast about your flesh. |
But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. | 14But may I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. |
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. | 15For neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything; the only thing that matters is a new creation! |
And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God. | 16And all who will behave in accordance with this rule, peace and mercy be on them, and on the Israel of God. |
From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus. | 17From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear the marks of Jesus on my body. |
Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen. | 18The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers and sisters. Amen. |
