And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, | 1The LORD spoke to Moses: |
Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering. | 2"Tell the Israelites to take an offering for me. You are to take my offering from everyone who is willing to give. |
And this is the offering which ye shall take of them; gold, and silver, and brass, | 3This is the offering you are to receive from them: gold, silver, and bronze; |
And blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats' hair, | 4blue, purple, and scarlet yarn; fine linen and goat hair; |
And rams' skins dyed red, and badgers' skins, and shittim wood, | 5ram skins dyed red and fine leather; acacia wood; |
Oil for the light, spices for anointing oil, and for sweet incense, | 6oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense; |
Onyx stones, and stones to be set in the ephod, and in the breastplate. | 7and onyx along with other gemstones for mounting on the ephod and breastpiece. |
And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. | 8"They are to make a sanctuary for me so that I may dwell among them. |
According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it. | 9You must make it according to all that I show you--the pattern of the tabernacle as well as the pattern of all its furnishings. |
And they shall make an ark of shittim wood: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof. | 10"They are to make an ark of acacia wood, forty-five inches long, twenty-seven inches wide, and twenty-seven inches high. |
And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, within and without shalt thou overlay it, and shalt make upon it a crown of gold round about. | 11Overlay it with pure gold; overlay it both inside and out. Also make a gold molding all around it. |
And thou shalt cast four rings of gold for it, and put them in the four corners thereof; and two rings shall be in the one side of it, and two rings in the other side of it. | 12Cast four gold rings for it and place them on its four feet, two rings on one side and two rings on the other side. |
And thou shalt make staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold. | 13Make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold. |
And thou shalt put the staves into the rings by the sides of the ark, that the ark may be borne with them. | 14Insert the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark in order to carry the ark with them. |
The staves shall be in the rings of the ark: they shall not be taken from it. | 15The poles are to remain in the rings of the ark; they must not be removed from it. |
And thou shalt put into the ark the testimony which I shall give thee. | 16Put the tablets of the testimony that I will give you into the ark. |
And thou shalt make a mercy seat of pure gold: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof. | 17Make a mercy seat of pure gold, forty-five inches long and twenty-seven inches wide. |
And thou shalt make two cherubims of gold, of beaten work shalt thou make them, in the two ends of the mercy seat. | 18Make two cherubim of gold; make them of hammered work at the two ends of the mercy seat. |
And make one cherub on the one end, and the other cherub on the other end: even of the mercy seat shall ye make the cherubims on the two ends thereof. | 19Make one cherub at one end and one cherub at the other end. At its two ends, make the cherubim of one piece with the mercy seat. |
And the cherubims shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and their faces shall look one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubims be. | 20The cherubim are to have wings spread out above, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and are to face one another. The faces of the cherubim should be toward the mercy seat. |
And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee. | 21Set the mercy seat on top of the ark and put the tablets of the testimony that I will give you into the ark. |
And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel. | 22I will meet with you there above the mercy seat, between the two cherubim that are over the ark of the testimony; I will speak with you from there about all that I command you regarding the Israelites. |
Thou shalt also make a table of shittim wood: two cubits shall be the length thereof, and a cubit the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof. | 23"You are to construct a table of acacia wood, thirty-six inches long, eighteen inches wide, and twenty-seven inches high. |
And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, and make thereto a crown of gold round about. | 24Overlay it with pure gold and make a gold molding all around it. |

And thou shalt make for it four rings of gold, and put the rings in the four corners that are on the four feet thereof. | 26Make four gold rings for it, and attach the rings to the four corners at its four legs. |
Over against the border shall the rings be for places of the staves to bear the table. | 27The rings should be next to the frame as holders for the poles to carry the table. |
And thou shalt make the staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold, that the table may be borne with them. | 28Make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold, and the table can be carried by them. |

And thou shalt set upon the table shewbread before me alway. | 30Put the Bread of the Presence on the table before me at all times. |
And thou shalt make a candlestick of pure gold: of beaten work shall the candlestick be made: his shaft, and his branches, his bowls, his knops, and his flowers, shall be of the same. | 31"You are to make a lampstand out of pure, hammered gold. It is to be made of one piece: its base and shaft, its ornamental cups, and its buds and petals. |
And six branches shall come out of the sides of it; three branches of the candlestick out of the one side, and three branches of the candlestick out of the other side: | 32Six branches are to extend from its sides, three branches of the lampstand from one side and three branches of the lampstand from the other side. |
Three bowls made like unto almonds, with a knop and a flower in one branch; and three bowls made like almonds in the other branch, with a knop and a flower: so in the six branches that come out of the candlestick. | 33There are to be three cups shaped like almond blossoms, each with a bud and petals, on one branch, and three cups shaped like almond blossoms, each with a bud and petals, on the next branch. It is to be this way for the six branches that extend from the lampstand. |
And in the candlestick shall be four bowls made like unto almonds, with their knops and their flowers. | 34There are to be four cups shaped like almond blossoms on the lampstand shaft along with its buds and petals. |
And there shall be a knop under two branches of the same, and a knop under two branches of the same, and a knop under two branches of the same, according to the six branches that proceed out of the candlestick. | 35For the six branches that extend from the lampstand, a bud must be under the first pair of branches from it, a bud under the second pair of branches from it, and a bud under the third pair of branches from it. |
Their knops and their branches shall be of the same: all it shall be one beaten work of pure gold. | 36Their buds and branches are to be of one piece. All of it is to be a single hammered piece of pure gold. |
And thou shalt make the seven lamps thereof: and they shall light the lamps thereof, that they may give light over against it. | 37"Make its seven lamps, and set them up so that they illuminate the area in front of it. |
