International Standard VersionNET Bible
Shepherd of Israel, listen! The one who leads Joseph like a flock, the one enthroned on the cherubim, display your glory. 1For the music director; according to the shushan-eduth style; a psalm of Asaph. O shepherd of Israel, pay attention, you who lead Joseph like a flock of sheep! You who sit enthroned above the winged angels, reveal your splendor!
Reveal your power before Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh, then come to our rescue.2In the sight of Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh reveal your power! Come and deliver us!
God, restore us, show your favor and deliver us.3O God, restore us! Smile on us! Then we will be delivered!
LORD God of the Heavenly Armies, when will your smoldering anger toward your people's prayers cease? 4O LORD God, invincible warrior! How long will you remain angry at your people while they pray to you?
You fed them tears as their food, and caused them to drink a full measure of tears.5You have given them tears as food; you have made them drink tears by the measure.
You have set us at strife against our neighbors and our enemies deride us.6You have made our neighbors dislike us, and our enemies insult us.
God of the Heavenly Armies, restore us and show your favor, so we may be delivered.7O God, invincible warrior, restore us! Smile on us! Then we will be delivered!
You uprooted a vine from Egypt, and drove out nations to transplant it.8You uprooted a vine from Egypt; you drove out nations and transplanted it.
You cleared the ground so that its roots grew and filled the land.9You cleared the ground for it; it took root, and filled the land.
Mountains were covered by its shadows, and the mighty cedars by its branches.10The mountains were covered by its shadow, the highest cedars by its branches.
Its branches spread out to the Mediterranean Sea and its shoots to the Euphrates River.11Its branches reached the Mediterranean Sea, and its shoots the Euphrates River.
Why did you break down its walls so that those who pass by pluck its fruits? 12Why did you break down its walls, so that all who pass by pluck its fruit?
Wild boars of the forest gnaw at it, and creatures of the field feed on it.13The wild boars of the forest ruin it; the insects of the field feed on it.
God of the Heavenly Armies, return! Look down from heaven and see. Show care toward this vine.14O God, invincible warrior, come back! Look down from heaven and take notice! Take care of this vine,
The root that your right hand planted, the shoot that you tended for yourself,15the root your right hand planted, the shoot you made to grow!
was burned with fire, cut off, and destroyed on account of your rebuke.16It is burned and cut down. They die because you are displeased with them.
May you support the man at your right hand; the son of man whom you have raised for yourself.17May you give support to the one you have chosen, to the one whom you raised up for yourself!
Then we will not turn away from you. Restore us, so we can call upon your name.18Then we will not turn away from you. Revive us and we will pray to you!
God of hosts, restore to us the light of your favor. Then we'll be delivered.19O LORD God, invincible warrior, restore us! Smile on us! Then we will be delivered!
